Roozbeh hungry people do not revolt
by choghok on Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:37 PM PSTLast years of Saddam holding the power showed that while people got poorer Saddams hold of power grew. Hungry and poor people are tired and do not start revolution, It takes cooperation of different groups for that. In my opinion cooperation between middle class and low class, between the leftists and religious led to the revolution, and also the fact that Shah did not use full force to kill people.

I still remember the neon El dorado from our window in Amiriyeh/Moniriyeh from the 1339-40 Tehran.

Two undeniable facts straight out of this video clip:
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:31 AM PST1) If it was not for the breathtaking gap between the rich and poor in Iran under the late shah, there would had never been a revolution, no matter how dictatorial shah was or how often he called khomeini names on his newspapers.
2) If people of Iran as a whole had a fraction of political and social awareness of the people of Gilan, the revolution would not had degenerated into a counter revolution and islamist fascism.
Otherwise, beautiful video clip. Thank you so much. Gilan in particular has always been a beautiful place with great people, be it under Shah or sheikh...
