RAHANA: Cesar Torab Ahmadi is son of Abdolkarim Torab Ahmadi, a former political prisoner who served four years in prison under the Shah and 17 years in prison after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, for supporting a leftist organization.
Cesar Torab Ahmadi was arrested in January 2011 when he struggled with Intelligence Ministry forces who had shown up to arrest his father, Abdolkarim Torabi, without a warrant. He spent four months inside Isfahan and Shahin Shahr Intelligence detention centers.
Prior to this latest arrest, Cesar Torab Ahmadi had been detained several times, spending between ten and 15 days under torture in solitary cells inside the Intelligence detention centers.
Four months after his arrest and detention, Torab Ahmadi was sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of "cooperating with enemy organizations," "acting against national security," "insulting the Supreme Leader," "propagating against the regime," "disrupting public order," and "entanglement with security forces." Cesar Torab Ahmadi was transferred to Isfahan's Dastgerd Prison. He is in urgent need for surgery in his legs and for medical attention due to his poor health. He has been denied medical furlough despite his deteriorating medical condition.

by Bavafa on Mon Feb 27, 2012 10:49 AM PSTHere It appears we have a family who are not strangers to fighting dictatorship, whether the Shah or the even more brutal regime, the IRI. A father and son spending years in prison for exercising their basic rights. They are a sample of our brave bunch currently putting their lives and livelihood on the line for a better Iran and as such they deserve our full support for their immediate and unconditional freedom.
My salute to each and every one of these brave bunch for standing up for their rights and their country.
