thinkprogress.org: The Daily Caller editor in chief Tucker Carlson faced an onslaught of criticism yesterday for telling Fox News “Red Eye” viewers that “Iran deserves to be annihilated.” Carlson’s comments, first reported on ThinkProgress, led The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg to observe, “This is the sort of rhetoric that leads to war. I have no doubt this clip will be played over and over again in Tehran by a regime eager to prove that America wants to — to borrow a phrase — wipe Iran off the map.”

Just imagine if he were Jewish
by Simorgh5555 on Fri Feb 24, 2012 03:34 AM PST....You would make the point about it non-stop. How does it feel that an anglo-saxon American has said that Iran should be anihilated?
You love his blue eyes and white face. But just imagine if he was a big hook-nose Jew!
The Jew hate is in your blood!
Most Iranians still have not understood!
by Arash Kamangir on Fri Feb 24, 2012 02:49 AM PSTI am afraid iranians should slowly realize ( as 33 yrs have not been long enough!) that they have a regime in Iran that could only be compared to those back in middle ages and if that is not bad enough IR is determined to have the bomb sothat they can eliminate the human race and "prepare the coming of their holy 12th emam".
Isn't it time that we wake up and accept that IR has not left the free world much choice but its "elimination"?

Regarding "Con"
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Feb 23, 2012 05:16 PM PSTDear MG and other posters: I know there used to be a time when it was different. When conservatives were respectable. But the days were very long ago. Days of Buckley.
The problem is not with conservatism. It is with American version of it. Here the religious radicals have taken over and driven out all sanity. I see little difference between TC; Santorum and Taliban. Given a chance they are as bad.
By the way Fox "News" is the propaganda wing of the far right. Run by the vermin Murdoch. I doubt he will be kicked out of Fox because they want jerk. The whole thing runs on views who are both stupid and racist.
This fool needs to pay a heavy price for his stupidity & racism,
by Mash Ghasem on Thu Feb 23, 2012 04:55 PM PSTCould we initiate a petition drive against him here on IC? Through a blog or something?
Where the heck are all these Iranian-American "community" groups when they're really needed to stand up and be counted.
VPK jaan, not all conservatives are as offensive as this jerk. I personally miss William F. Buckley. The late Buckley had class, elegance and was an all around knowledgeable fellow. Those were the days!

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Feb 23, 2012 03:28 PM PSTproving again they are a bunch of racist jerks. They are busy annihilating the American middle class. They have pushed out anyone with a brain or any reason. Their primary has Santorum and Newt. ** the Republicans.
I remember days when Republicans were a respectable. Before word "Conservative" became an insult. Meaning insane or slave of hate. Too bad those days are gone. Most the sane Republicans got chase out. Those who remain will be gone.
Mr. Bahmani: what are you talking about sir. Alright I grant NIAC has some questionable issues. What is your problem with PAAIA and what is bad about opposing MEK. Why do you try to take advantage of this for your pet issue.
Dear Yoland. None other
by vildemose on Thu Feb 23, 2012 03:08 PM PSTDear Yoland. None other than Tucker Carlson.

Where's NIAC and PAAIA and their fake "OUTRAGE!!!"
by bahmani on Thu Feb 23, 2012 02:57 PM PSTThe real question is why in all of the calls for not bombing Iran and the attacks on the MEK and all sorts of anti-war with Iran rhetoric, NIAC and PAAIA or shall we just give up and call them PAAINAC, doing about this very publicly stated flub by TC.
TC backpedaled a bit and said he didn't mean it, but not because it was immoral or mean or evil but because it would make the price of gas go up in the US.
To excuse an annihilatory comment by qualifying it with economics is insulting to the world and the US and needs to be apologized for.
So much for our "watchdogs".

You wrote,
"I see his postition close to Khameni, AN, and Basij et and their beneficiaris not only in babarity but core ideology."
Whom did you refer to when said "his position"? Tucker? Or someone else in this thread? I just wanted to make sure I understand your post.
Thanks,
Dear Yolanda

by Abarmard on Thu Feb 23, 2012 01:50 PM PSTYou make the statement that this individual is speaking on his own behalf and he is stupid. However if you see a unknown Mullah in unknown location saying something stupid, you quickly blame IR. You don't seem to blame the US government now!?
I see the position of this guy very close to most important politicians including John McCain and Lieberman, for example.

He is a loser! I recall he had an big argument with Jon Stewart. He looked like a big loser! After the infamous debate, the network got rid of him! No one wanted to be associated with losers!
Interesting that he stopped wearing his trade-mark bowtie!
Did he appear on "Dancing with the stars" also?

What makes me angry is the comment that annihilation of Iran will have a little side affect and that is Americans will have to pay more for fuel, disgusting little man.

“While the site claims to be neutral in regard to ideology, some observers have noted its right-wing leanings. The Guardian referred to The Daily Caller as "the conservative answer to The Huffington Post."[3]”

There are lots of crazed folks who constantly dream of "annihilating" one thing or other. From Ahmadinezhad , wanting to annihiliate Jews, to the red neck owner of the truck I saw on my way back from work yesterday with the sticker "annihilate moozlims" (or words to the effect). to this korsi khol. The question in my mind is why these crazed hateful characters are given so many Gigat bytes and Bandwidth to spew their hateful message on internet sites?
Small amount of price we have to pay
by Abarmard on Thu Feb 23, 2012 10:10 AM PSTWhen the stuff hit the fan he explains that he was trying to say the opposite that war with Iran is "expensive".
In his original version he mentions that he believes Iran needs to be annihilated but we need to be concern about the "small price" that comes with that, which is the price of oil!!!!
Mr. Tucker Carlson, unlike Israelis, Iranians don't play the victim card so you are safe and forgotten. Even we got some folks that claim to be Iranian and agree with you, so no worries from our community. Hopefully however that the American community continues in reminding you about what is the real price of war that may just go beyond the price of oil.
