RAHANA: Naeem Ahmadi is a political activist and student activist who served as a member of Mehdi Karroubi's election campaign in 2009. Naeem Ahmadi is a Tabriz University Geology student. He was also a member of Sahand Literary Society's Central Council, and Secretary of Tabriz University's College of Natural Sciences Islamic Association.
Security forces brutally beat and arrested Naeem Ahmadi for the first time on 13 June 2011. He spent more than 100 days in solitary cells under physical and psychological pressure. He was released five months later on bail of $200,000. The Tabriz Revolutionary Court found Ahmadi guilty of "membership in the Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement (GAMOH)," and "propagating against the state," and sentenced him to six months in prison. Ahmadi was arrested again on 5 February 2012 to begin serving his prison sentence.
Naeem Ahmadi was transferred to Meshkin Shahr Prison, where he is serving his sentence in exile.

I (we) am (are) writing this to condemn persecution and harrasment of national minorities in Iran. National minorities in Iran are being
constantly harassed and arrested by the Iranian government authorities.
In particular, this letter is written to express my (our) serious
concern about the health and well being of Mr. Naeem Ahmadi who has
been unjustly incarcerated twice, currently condemned to a six months prison sentence .
(we) condemn the continuous gross attacks on all
ethnic minorities in Iran. I (we) demand the immediate and unconditional
freedom of Mr. Naeem Ahmadi, and all other political prisoners,
and call on the Islamic Republic of Iran to respect the right of all
