I recorded this during my visit to Iran after not being there for 15 years. Wikipedia: The Saadabad Palace (Persian:کاخ سعدآباد Sa`dābād) is a palace built by the Pahlavi dynasty of Iran in the Shemiran area of Tehran. The complex was first inhabited by Qajar monarchs and royal family in the 19th century. After an expansion of the compounds, Reza Shah lived there in the 1920s. And his son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi moved there in the 1970s. After the Iranian Revolution, the complex became a museum.

Arthimis Khanom you are a credit to the entire Qajar clan
by anglophile on Tue Feb 14, 2012 09:48 AM PSTIf there were a few more of you among your relatives we would have had you as a reigning princess in one of those palaces today. I prasie you for your balanced and fair judgment. This is real noblity - esaalat.
Simply pathetic
by MRX1 on Tue Feb 14, 2012 08:56 AM PSTYou can't even compare it with palaces and mansions in U.S and Europe. Looks like a just big bagh hat's all apprently the most impressive part of it is lunch menu!
I agree with you 100%
by Arthimis on Tue Feb 14, 2012 08:54 AM PSTI agree with you 100% anglophile! Once I was talking to an Armenian guy (from Armenia) and he told me his wife is Armenian from Iran and he went there to visit his wife's family in Tehran few years ago. During his visit, he went to visit Shah's Palaces... He was stunned by Shah's humility in terms of his life style and class... He said , he couldn't believe his eyes when they showed his old places like this one... He said any KING or in that region's case, any normal President of a country would have build a "Disneyland" or Palaces with Gold Temples and all ...
These ungrateful Iranians with massive inferiority complexes still blame his son Reza for stealing 63 million dollars??!!
We are talking about a Dynasty (Pahlavi) that Iran and Iranians owe everything positive they have had & because of them and their 54 years of service to Iran. (and yes, I'm a Qajar...) :-)
Now day's an avarage Mullah, Pasdar & Agha Zadeh steals Millions & even Billions of $$$ from Iran & Iranians!!! To top if off, They imprison, torture & kill Iranians who even disagree with them every day and take their families hostages too!!!!
The Ultimate crime against Iran & Iranians is when these I.R. Regime supporters and apologists come out here on IC and other places try to guide or rather further mis-inform and lie to us Iranians, just like their "Antelectual" or sometimes "Abdaarchi" parents did which lead to that horrible tragedy in 1979 for us to collectively LOSE Iran to bunch of ignorant psychos and violent thugs...
Until we have such so called Iranian people, with such upbringing, family and social education, mentality & social behavior and out right DISHONESTY about "LIFE" in general, Iran is and will remain in this BIG trouble ...
FREE IRAN.
Anglophile Jan Even Less Luxurious than Elysée or Downton abbey

Pitiful!
by anglophile on Tue Feb 14, 2012 05:22 AM PSTCompared to only one of the palaces of Queen Elisabeth II, the Shah of Iran's palaces all put together carve a pitiful figure and yet the uninformed people of Iran who have seen nothing outside the boundary of their own confined living make such a big deal about Saad Abad!! I am not surprised by those native and hardly travelled visitors who haven't seen anything outside of Iran to say Wow. But for those of us who have seen the obscene wealth of the American and European mansions and palaces to show interest in the Shah's so called palaces is mind boggling. Here is a clip from the BBC's program showing some of the Queen's palaces (Buckingham in this case) and showing only the parts that the camera crew were allowed to see. Please don't be so nadid-badid
