Abbas Badfar: Prisoner of the day

Serving 10-years in prison for taking part in protests

sunni-news: Abbas Badfar was arrested during street protests in December 2009 in Sistan-Balouchestan Province and was transferred to Tehran’s Evin Priosn, where he was interrogated and tortured for several months inside Intelligence Ministry's Ward 209.

Abbas Badfar was accused of having ties to the Mujahedin-e Khalgh Organization, and put on trial on Moharebeh charges without a lawyer. On 30 May 2010, Abbas Badfar was sentenced to 10 years in prison to be served in exile at Rajaee Shahr Prison, where he is currently serving. Badfar was kept in solitary confinement over a long period of time and brutally tortured, before being moved to ward 6 of Rajaee Shahr Prison in Karaj in September 2010.
