Sanaz Nikaein: Arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

SFgate: A San Francisco prosecutor was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of domestic violence, authorities said Sunday. Assistant District Attorney Sanaz Nikaein, 34, of San Francisco was booked at County Jail on Saturday. She was released after making bail, authorities said.

The circumstances that led to her arrest were not immediately available, and the alleged victim was not identified. Acquaintances said Nikaein is married. Nikaein, an attorney since 2004, and her husband did not respond to a request for comment Sunday.

Stephanie Ong Stillman, a spokeswoman for District Attorney George Gascón, declined to comment on the case Sunday but said the office of state Attorney General Kamala Harris was handling the case to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Earlier this month, Gascón's office charged San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi with three misdemeanor counts - domestic violence battery of his wife, child endangerment and dissuading a witness - in connection with an incident on New Year's Eve >>>

Citizen Arrest is when you are watching a football game on TV and your bored girlfriend puts on her lingerie and tries to block the TV!

rules if you are Iranian you are guilty. I hope the Iranian community in California gets off their behind. Donate and do whatever it takes to make sure people like Gascon do not remain in power any more.

Nikaein's attorney, Anthony Brass, said Nuri and Nikaein's marriage was "dissolving," and that Nuri had previously threatened to get her fired. In a restraining order filed against Nuri on Monday, Nikaein said Nuri told her in December "if I ever leave him he will end my career by filing a false DV [domestic violence] report." On Saturday, Nuri shoved, slapped and choked her, she said in the document. Messages left at Nuri's home and office phone numbers were not immediately returned.
