Michael Nejad: Voted Off America's Got Talent

Gets three Xs from judges

Examiner: Nejad seemed to only care that his instruments were functional, not that they sounded good. He started off playing an instrument made out of a baseball bat that sounded like a mouth recorder. Stern buzzed him immediately... then he dropped the shovel -- his good instrument -- and moved on to a vacuum cleaner that was made into a saxophone. During this part, he received the other two judges' Xs. "It's still got to sound like a good instrument. That's a crummy instrument," said Stern, referring to the baseball bat >>>

Piers Morgan was great on this show

i agree with ghalam-doon. i really enjoyed piers morgan on this show. he was very classy and his background was a better fit for agt.

Last time I watched

by ghalam-doon on

Last time I watched this show, Piers Morgan was still a judge who brought some elements of class to this show. And now they have replaced him with a clown? Stern was classic Stern, rude, obnoxious and vile. The act was not good but it didn't deserve 3 Xs. The Ostaad as some called him here, should stick with the regular instruments and forget about playing vacuum cleaners. That part of the act really "sucked" !

They said it like it was, It sucked. That's all it was, a bad act, every thing about it was poorly done. He knows it, you it, and the judges knew it also. So stop pretending, and accept that not all Iranians are talented.

Thank you Mr. Nejad.

Howard Stern was rude and does not deserve to be a judge.

Mr. Nejad should have played different music or theme.  I heard he is a capable music teacher and in my view, he should not have participated in this show.

He is truly an Ostad but this did not hurt either

by Anahid Hojjati on

I am sure more people hear his name and once they find out about all the classical music training that he does, Ostad Nejad will have more students.

Bahmani, off the topic of your comment

by Anonymous Observer on

but don't underestimate Sharon Osbourne.  She is a good judge of talent.  After all, she managed The Smashing Pumpkins, as well as her husband, Ozzy.  Other bands too.  She has even turned down requests for advice from famous bands such as Guns N' Roses, etc.

the other two I would probably agree with you.  But I don't watch much TV, and have not seen AGT, so I can't properly opine. I do listen to Stern on the radio and he's pretty good there.

Sad to see OSTAD Nejat reduced to a common clown

by bahmani on

You cannot take classical Persian Music and reduce it to crass pop culture fodder where the supposed "Talent" judges are nothings like Howard Stern and Howie Mandell. I won't even mention what's her name.

OSTAD Nejat is a classically trained MASTER of Iranian Music.

This is not a joke, this is a serious skill and art and has no business lowering itself to be on this kind of shit show.

Shame on whoever told him he could or should try out. Often talented folks like this hear ridiculous advice and then do the worst thing possible and actually take it.

Horrible decision!
