I think you'd be better off if you call yourself koofeh guard or karbala guard or something similar as the name immortal guard is a name for people who are patriot to their country and not to their religeon.

Time to retire "pres Peres"!!!!!!

Maybe time is out for Peres himself! IRI is only a threat to the people of Iran and Israel "wont" be able to destroy the Iranian capabality! if Israel or the US attack Iran the third war will start over "nothing" people will die just because Israel wants to be the only atomic power in the middle east because I don`t think anything threatens Israels existance!

Then what is all the foss for? Israel must know that Iran is not a bite size sandwich Israel wont be able even to chew on one part of Iran and they also need to stop threatening Iran because as it is the region is about to explode anyway!

The muslim brotherhood in Egypt and The syrian problem and Iraq and afganistan unstabled. I believe this situation needs just a lit to get burst into a war that would kill and kill and kill and nothing may stop it. 

I think it is the other way, it is the USA job to muzzle the "pres Peres" or Israel altogether!!!

Do you not read it as, the USA wants to curb the IRI's negative impact so the USA can keep the IRI in power longer,and stay on course regarding keeping Iran where they planned Iran to be when the USA betrayed the late shah and helped khomeini seize power?

Hope the peace between Egypt and Israel ends. Right now Egypt has turned into a military dictatorship worse than during Mobarak's time.

Peres used to be an elderly statesman whose words mattered. Now his words don't carry as much weight as before!

And Iran sooner or later will get the nuclear bomb. It is just a question of time. A so-called surgical strike by Israel won't accomplish much. It will only make Israel (a mad dog) feel better for a while!

1. I still think that if Syria is driven to civil war, the outcome will not be in favor of Israel. It will be a long lasting chaos and hot bed for armed nuisances for all governments in middle east including Israel and Iran.

2. If it does not break into civil war, it will be pushed into an ugly war that will get many countries involved.

3. The 3rd scenario is a militarized famine-hit country that will breed extremism in the long run. I think this is the most favorable one by Israel after 1st one.

Iran's nuclear program and Syria's civil war may seem unconnected, but in fact they are inextricably linked. Israel's real fear -- losing its nuclear monopoly and therefore the ability to use its conventional forces at will throughout the Middle East -- is the unacknowledged factor driving its decision-making toward the Islamic Republic. For Israeli leaders, the real threat from a nuclear-armed Iran is not the prospect of an insane Iranian leader launching an unprovoked nuclear attack on Israel that would lead to the annihilation of both countries. It's the fact that Iran doesn't even need to test a nuclear weapon to undermine Israeli military leverage in Lebanon and Syria. Just reaching the nuclear threshold could embolden Iranian leaders to call on their proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, to attack Israel, knowing that their adversary would have to think hard before striking back.

That is where Syria comes in. It is the strategic relationship between the Islamic Republic and the Assad regime that makes it possible for Iran to undermine Israel's security. Over the three decades of hostility between Iran and Israel, a direct military confrontation has never occurred -- but through Hezbollah, which is sustained and trained by Iran via Syria, the Islamic Republic has proven able to threaten Israeli security interests.

The collapse of the Assad regime would sunder this dangerous alliance. Defense Minister Ehud Barak, arguably the most important Israeli decision-maker on this question, recently told CNN's Christiane Amanpour that the Assad regime's fall "will be a major blow to the radical axis, major blow to Iran....
