Ahmad Pouladkhani, 42, is a farmer from Piranshahr, a Kurdish-inhabited city in West Azerbaijan Province. Pouladkhani was arrested in 2007 on charges of espionage, and membership and cooperation with PJAK.
On 3 December 2009, an Orumiyeh military court sentenced Ahmad Pouladkhani and several others to imprisonment and death by firing squad on charges of "acting against national security."
On 12 April 2011, upon review of an appeals request by Pouladkhani's lawyer, the Supreme Court agreed to a retrial and sent the case to Branch One of Orumiyeh Military Courts.
Ahmad Pouladkhani was subsequently sentenced to ten years in prison in exile inside the Zahedan Prison in Sistan and Balouchestan Province.

by Zendanian on Fri Mar 16, 2012 03:05 PM PDTSample Protest letter:
Dear virtual family, please take a moment to send this protest letter or use your own version.
Please keep in mind that as we approach Noroz, and all the festivities, for our magnificient, most brave political prisoners there will be no festivities , apart from their family members, deprived of the most basic rights inside jails of IR. Sending a letter would take only a few moments for us, but it would mean so much for them. Many thanks in advance.

IRI Shiat Apartheid regime has been killing our Kurd & Balooch
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Fri Mar 16, 2012 09:06 AM PDTCompatriots for the past 33 years, for no crime other than their ethnicity and their religion. The bogus charges of "separatism", "espionage', "Mohareb (being against allah)" are brought against these compatriots of ours as exciuses to kill them. The fact is that Kurds and balooch remain most patriotic Iranians.
Our Kurdish compatriots have been in particular singled out by the fascist regime, for their long standing opposition to the shiat velayat faghih rule, and their support for the secular preogressive parties. For that I have special respect for our Kurdish brothers and sisters.
Death to Dictator. Death to fascist islamic regime.
Long Live Iran. Long live Kurdestan, Long Live democracy
Espionage is a serious offence…
by Bavafa on Fri Mar 16, 2012 08:20 AM PDTOne that should receive the full punishment that is permissible by law, but only if it is done in a just and credible court.
Until we can have such court in Iran, all sentences ought to be nullified with an immediate and unconditional freedom of all political prisoners.
