Hossein Kamangar: Prisoner of the day

Relative of executed Kurdish teacher arrested

ICHR:A local human rights source told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that there is no information about the fate of Hossein Kamangar, a Kamyaran citizen and relative of executed Kurdish teacher Farzad Kamangar, since his secretive detention.

Hossein Kamangar had been summoned by a security organization in the village of Shirvaneh to provide some information more than 40 days ago. Security forces subsequently detained Hossein Kamangar.

A source close to Kamangar informed the Campaign: “After several trips by the family to the Intelligence Office of Kamyaran, the security organization informed them that he had been arrested by security forces of Kermanshah Province, and the forces had been deputized by the Judiciary to arrest and transfer him to a security detention center in the town of Ravansar. After 15 days of daily visits by Hossein Kamangar’s family to security organizations and Ravansar courts, they were finally told that he had been transferred to Kermanshah 15 days ago.”

“During this time, even though Mr. Kamangar is married and has children, the Kermanshah Intelligence Office did not allow him to visit his family or make telephone calls to them. After his family pursued this vigorously, the Information Unit of Kermanshah Intelligence Office informed them that he is detained and under interrogation inside their detention center.”

Hossein Kamangar is a relative of the executed Kurdish teacher, Farzad Kamangar. The source told the Campaign that since his memorial service in Kamyaran in Kurdistan, pressure has been mounting on those close to the family over the past two years.

Hossein's "crime"? His relative, a teacher was executed!

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

Hearing the news of how the latest circus act of "elections" of Islamist regime was ignored by the vast majority of Iranians for the very first time in Islamic republic's shamefull 33 year history, I have now no doubt that the freedom of Hossein and all other political prisoners of this Fascist entity, the Islamist regime, by the mighty hands of Iranian people, is now just a matter of time.

Sample Protest letter:

Dear  virtual family, please take a moment to send this protest letter or use your own version.

Please keep in mind that for us, in our priviliged position: free and outside of Iran and IR's jails, and with acess to internet, it's only a few moments work, but for our political prisoners  back home it would make a big difference. Many thanks in advance.

 ========================================

Free Hossein Kamangar!

I (we) am (are) writing this to condemn persecution and harrasment of  national minorities in Iran.  Ethnic minorities in Iran are constantly harassed and arrested by the Iranian government authorities.

In particular, this letter is written to express my (our) serious
concern about the health and well being of Mr. Hossein Kamangar.

Mr. Kamangar, who belongs to a much respected, beloved, prominent  family, ever since the dasterdly execution of his younger cousine Mr. Farzad Kamngar, himself has become a focus of security forces. Iranian officials shall keep in mind that the reaction to Farzad Kamangar's execution was a General Strike that shut down the entire Kurdestan province. Any harsh treatment of Mr. Hossein Kamangar shall have serious, highly costly consequences for Islamic Republic. .

I (we) demand the immediate and unconditional
freedom of Mr. Hossein Kamangar, and all other political prisoners,
and call on the Islamic Republic of Iran to respect the right of all
Iranians to  , organize, assemble and freedom  association and
expression.
