I think when he says "Israel must have the ability", he means "the US must back us up to 100% if we go to war" and Obama doesn't want to use the war option as early as Israel wants to. Israel is only afraid the US won't back them up the way they plan to...

What about the consequences of such an attack. The next day, week or month when IRI retaliates in full force, will you not ask for US and Western countries to come to your aid. If you're going to need the help (which you will almost certainly need) then you will have to (at least) accept that the start of any such conflict has to be decided by the powers who will have to pick up after you and cover for you!

Why are you dragging us into your warS each and every time?

The American people would be greatful if you stand on your own and defend yourself on your own, now leave us alone.  And on that note, we can use that more than $3 billion a year of free money to spend it on our own people.

What does "defence" have anything to do with being "offensive"! there is no threat against Israel! It is Israel that is making all the threats!

He should have responded

He should have responded something like: "I truly respect and understand your desire to defend yourself, but do not expect us to go to war for you"
