Original post of this documentary preferrable
by maghshoosh on Sun May 06, 2012 12:48 PM PDTDear mehrdadm,
It's useful that you've reposted here this documentary that was already posted at this site about a year ago @
//iranian.com/main/blog/maghshoosh/ehsan-...
since it wasn't originally featured at the top of the page and may not have garnered the attention it deserves. However, the version posted originally would be preferrable, since it has English subtitles which makes it accessible to a wider audience (besides having better video quality). So to reach a wider audience, here's the version where you can turn on the subtitles from "cc" (through the arrow at the bottom right):

He is indeed the "mashoogh" of his era and in his field!

What a shame to run out of money
by MM on Sun May 06, 2012 08:53 AM PDTProfessor Yarshater put in years of his life to meticulously gather and edit this timeless collection. Not to mention three million dollars of his own money.
So sad to hear the project for Iranica ran out of money
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Sun May 06, 2012 07:51 AM PDTas a result of the revolution. Thank goodness it was a priority of the government before 1979, to at least get the ball rolling and that it was a burden of love for Iran lovers. Ehsan Yarshater's selfless dedication to this labor intensive mission for the benfit of us all is very important for us to remember and show thanks for. Since the Iran hating regime came to power in 1979, worthwhile national projects like this and the development of Iranians has been fogotten, sadly. This guy is In a different league, when it comes to Iranian of the Day. A wonderful iranian, thankyou.
