Reza Ansari: Prisoner of the day

Journalist in poor health

Committee of Human Rights Reporters: Reza Ansari is a journalist who has worked with reformist newspapers in Iran for the past several years. For several weeks, journalist Reza Ansari Rad was repeatedly summoned to Evin Prison Court. When he appeared at the court on 3 May, he was arrested and transferred to Evin Prison, where he is currently inside Ward 350.

According to reports from Committee of Human Rights Reporters, Reza Ansari Rad is in poor physical conditions and has suffered two nervous seizures during the past two weeks. According to his cellmates, his seizures look like epileptic attacks, and if other prisoners are not immediately aware of his conditions around the clock, he may suffer grave consequences.

In September 2011, Reza Ansari Rad was sentenced to one year in prison by Tehran Revolutionary Court. His sentence was subsequently upheld by an appeals court.

Over the past two weeks, the new Sentence Enforcement staff at Evin Prison have sent two journalists to prison. Mahsa Amrabadi is the other journalist who was started her two-year sentence on 9 May.

Today, it was reported that Palestinian prisoners who are being held without any charge or trial by yet another rapist regime (Israel) are gaining concessions by simple means of non-violent methods.

  

I support ALL Iranian political prisoners without any reservations and would wish for a similar tactic, a mass hunger strike by prisoners and perhaps those who support them.  I certainly would entertain such strike if it was being genuinely organized and executed by those brave Iranians in IRI prison.

  

I can’t speak enough of my admiration for these brave bunch and my contempt for regimes such as IRI or Israel for their rapist policies.

what a country ?!! About 2 yrs ago a Mexican national was pulled over for a broken tail light here in nashville Tn. To make the story short she was with out lic. & no Immig. papers(an illegal)next day she went into labor since she was over 8 mo. pregnant. she was hand cuffed to bed for entire delivery time. and after a year of fighting the system she was awarded over $ 2.5 millions for wrong doing. now go and say marg bar amrika.
