If you compare the old pictures of your grand-ma, with her today's photos, you will see a huge difference. You know well that the old photographies were very poor and it made everybody so ugly and even hairy.

how about ' band '  was it not available at the time? I realy don't know the history of ' band e sorat'. but it is good to find out!!

Laser is pretty recent.  Still not aviable  to many parts of the world...

But , seriously, I am not making fun of them.  I think those features make any woman ugly.  That is my personal  taste.. I think feminity should be cherished.

thanks for the great movie, I liked it, although I am not sure how accurate it is, but as a documentary overall it was interesting.
However I didn't like your comment about the Qajar's women. I know well your sense of humor dear and I know you didn't mean anything bad.
But I can assure you, that not only myself (being from Qajar's family) but many other Persian ladies that I know from Qajars, are not ugly. We are normal.
Some of us, are also the most beautiful ladies like Sara Shahi and many others:

You are a very smart girl and I wished to hear more sublte statements from you, to criticize the Qajar dynasty, than the ones about their women's apperance.
If you look at the pictures of the European ladies in 0f 18 and 19 centureis, you won't find them so beautiful, either.
You must be aware that at era, fatter women were more appreciated. Also the industry of waxing and laser was not as wellknown as today.
Any how, I just wanted to mention that making fun of the people's apearance is not nice, nor well taken.

Being Shomalee you can find no signs of mustash or unibrow on my female rafteghan.  

Oh come on for God sakes ... Those two facial features make any woman ugly.. There are some signs of feminity and some signs of masculinity. Hadn't  the Ghajaree women heard of ' band e sorat' ? Let's face it Shah liked hairy women!  

But to be fair to them I did mention the majority were ugly not all...  There may have been some exceptions to the rules and by rules I mean Ghajar's unibrow and mustash requirement with masculinity for the females , both the wives and the mistress aka sighe ...l

 One thing for sure , Ghebleyeh Alam, Naserudin Shah, had certainly no taste when it came to women. The majority were ugly.  Especially his ' sogooli'' ... Yuck!!!
