Zamaneh: Issa Saharkhiz, an Iranian journalist who was returned to jail part way through his medical treatment in hospital, is refusing food and medication until the authorities heed his demands.
The Kaleme website reported on Monday, September 10, that the medical team at Rejai Shahr Prison, where Shahrkhiz was serving his sentence, announced that it was not able to provide for his medical needs and will not be responsible for him.
Issa Saharkhiz, according to the report, had been in hospital for the past six months to undergo treatment but, on August 28th, he was transferred to Evin Prison, at which time he began his food and medication strike.
Saharkhiz was arrested in July of 2009 in the widespread crackdown on protesters who claimed the presidential election had been rigged in favour of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Saharkhiz was charged with “insulting the leader and propaganda against the regime” and given a three-year sentence. However, last June, after he had served his time, the authorities refused to release him, and he remains in custody.
According to his son, the judiciary opened an old case against him and handed him another prison term of 18 months. In June Shaharkhiz wrote a letter to Ahmad Shaheed, the UN’s Special rapporteur for human rights in Iran, describing the dismal condition in Iranian prisons.

The Core
by fullback on Fri Sep 14, 2012 03:07 AM PDTThe entrire doctrin of this Islamist Bunch is rotted to the core. IF , Dead Khomaini, Dead Bin Ladan, Khamanai, Rafsanjani are example of Islamic religious leaders in the form of Islam today , then one has to conclude the Fellows who lived some 1400 years ago were a rotted bunch too,
He is a True Muslim, however he can not fix extremism

Nor can he fix the crimes of IRI extremists who are on a mission to humiliate true muslms and Iranians alike. Religion with out Politics is the only way. Democracy by itself is not the point! If Democracy is not separate from both religion and money/corporatism the society will not be a democratic one, because neither religion nor money run based on democratic ideals.

Regime change for Issa's sake
by Fred on Thu Sep 13, 2012 08:17 AM PDTJust like they’ve done all during the past 34 years, till the very last moment they’re retired from power, the Messianic Islamist Rapists will trample the most basic human rights of everyone.
Regime change by Iranians for Iranians with the logistical help from the sane world is the only way to end this national nightmare.
Backbreaking airtight sanctions plus air/naval quarantine is a must.

Iranians of all walks of life taking a stand for their freedom and just rights. They are to be commanded and supported by all freedom loving folks.
Iranians need to stand united in their support for these brave souls, support their goals and aspiration for a free independent and prospers Iran.
Foreign nations which thru their apartheid policy practice the same insanity and unjust detentions cannot be a good example for the future of Iran and need not to apply.

a devout muslim, jailed by the "Islamic Republic"
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Thu Sep 13, 2012 07:38 AM PDTI absolutely disagree with Mr saharkhiz's Reformist stance, as i believe this fascist, criminal entity, called islamic republic, is unreformable. Yet, I have the highest respect for this man, for standing up against those who have been committing crimes of rape, Torture, mass murder, all in name of his religion.
Unconditional freedom for our dear Issa and all other political, ethnic and religious prisoners of the fascist islamist regime should be the basic demand of every opposition group,
