I always treat myself to the posted pix. I would like to make a comment about "And man created God", for I beilive, that "next to it devil built a chaple."

Life changing?

* Red Wine jan, I don't know if seeing this incredible work of art was a life changing experience. It certainly has been one of the most exhilarating. Lotfet ziyaad!

* robertborden54: Seeing it in the dusk must be a spectacular sight... next time, one of these days.

* Monda jan, Gaudi's grave is near the alter, I think. It was not visible. They had closed the area for construction. And yes, I've taken pictures of other Gaudi buildings. More coming soon!

Hallucinatory Genius!

Gaudi lived during his last years of life and died there, so I think some of his designs of the Sagrada caught the eeriness of near-death experience and Gaudi's reverting to catholicism. There is so much of the Gothici Perfection Blended with Modern Romanticism - (was there is such a school even? - if not, his originality right there) His parents were both coppersmiths who raised him in nature, that's why all those animals are carved into Perfection.  plus maybe the animals' own mystical values?

It'd nice to know if you have a week or 2 of vacation what is the easiest and cheapest way to travel Europe.  Perhaps if you have some tips to share for those of us with little experience (but high hopes ;-)

I felt I was in heaven when I first visited the Sagrada Familia too.  As an atheist that was quite a surprise. Probably the most amazing building I have ever seen.  I don't know if you got a chance to look at it from a distance in the dusk.  It looks simply sublime.
