Unique items of wearable art

by Fariba Mirzaie

From an early age I have been influenced by nature. This fascination plus my love of drawing and painting have combined to give me a sense into how nature can be a positive force in understanding the human condition. I design and produce pieces of clothing from scratch including designing fabric, pattern and styles to create unique items of wearable art. Initially I opened a design studio in Iran for 10 years before moving to North Vancouver in 2000. Later on, I opened Gabbeh Textile Art Gallery in Downtown Vancouver >>> www.gabbeh.ca

Thank you,

I am trying to copy the law of nature, harmony from chaos /totally inside. I think this is the way we should act too in order to stay beautiful.

Congratulation

Congratulation Fariba, your work is so creative that it reflects so beautifully the connectedness of human and the nature. This connectedness is what, as you mentioned, “nature can be a positive force in understanding the human condition”, since, the human condition is directly influenced and defined by the nature. I enjoyed seeing the colours and the rhythms of patterns flow naturally with the human body and make them together as newly created whole human bodies. Thanks.

Flower Power is back

by radius-of-the-persian-cat on

Dear Fariba Mirzaie,

Very nice to see that flower power is back after 40 years, but now with a very special taste of magic and distinction, even reminding me a bit of illustrations in a fairy-tale book by brothers Grimm. Really nice. In case I"ll come to Vancouver one day, I will come around and buy a piece for my wife (if I can afford it).

Good luck with your collection.

Very beautiful, and organic, if I may say so. Not only creative but fresh and daring.
