Their eyes pierce right through! I hope to see this collection from up close one day. Even though I've seen many of those characters in person already.

Wonderful capturing of mood

I like the relation of the figures to their space, and to some extend what appears to be their transformation from one state to another, perhaps the private and public mood of the same group of figures.

The style of these painting remind me of the works of Edward Hopper but the 19 and 20 is more like the style of Lucian Freud. Yet the characters and their mood is distinctly Iranian.

JJ I think we're going to remain like this

for ever or at least for generations to come.  I don't see this as "the way we were" or questioning ourselves about it.  It is an accurate reflection of Iranian people, regardless of the circumstances or "IRI" for that matter.  It is just life and living. I'm talking about the water color portraits.

I don't understand why you would think we'd ask ourselves this question?

The way we are

The portraits are amazing. In a few decades we'll look back and say, "Is this the way we were?". Yes indeed... Amir Rad has captured our times.

They are really great

I saw some of these at an exhibit in Washington. They are really great.

Are these water color?

They are truly amazing. One of a kind and 2nd to none.
