TEHRAN (Reuters) – An "illegal splinter group" of an Iranian student body caused damage and clashed with security personnel during a gathering at Iran's largest university on Sunday, the official IRNA news agency reported... Student protests have been relatively rare in recent years in Iran, which is embroiled in a nuclear row with the United States and is often criticized by Western rights groups for cracking down on dissent at home. Liberal-minded students and academics have criticized President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for clamping down on dissent on campuses. The president and his government say they support free speech and welcome constructive opposition. Ahmadinejad is expected to seek another four-year term in an election next June>>>

IRI wants War!
by askingforit (not verified) on Thu Dec 11, 2008 09:26 AM PSTThe Iranian VP said this week that the destruction of Israel ought to be a global cause.
Iranian Fars News reported:
Iran's Vice-President Rahim Mashaie said Tuesday that Zionism's annihilation should turn into a global cause and demand.
Mashaie, who is in Mecca to perform annual Hajj pilgrimage, told Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir that "corrupt and criminal" Zionist regime is not only harmful and a threat for the Arab and Muslim world but also for whole the world mankind.
"So, its removal should turn into a global cause and demand."
According to the Islamic republic news agency, Al-Bashir, for his part, said that global conditions necessitate tighter cooperation between Iran and Sudan.

XerXes, Stop this BS
by Farhad Kashani on Tue Dec 09, 2008 01:56 PM PSTXerXes,
Stop this BS nonsense about “Zions” thing. I highly doubt you even know what “Zionism” is and I’m absolutely sure you have no clue that it has nothing to do with what the IRI is doing to Iran. This stupid word that your “comrade” friends invented means nothing to the world. In a free Iran, we will support the Palestinian cause because it’s the fair thing to do, but in no way, shape or from, we want to make Israel an enemy of us. The real and only enemy of Iran is your beloved IRI regime.
And listen to yourself when you’re saying that “the reason you hear that is because there are more reflection about this stupid actions in Iran”. You’re right, there are things wrong in our society that led to the rise of IRI, and you are the best example of those things that are wrong. You’re saying lets ignore what IRI is doing and lets concentrate on Israel! Lets shut our mouth and don’t say anything about what IRI is doing! A mature and informed nation doesn’t say these kind of things, and you are definitely a reflection of a minority of uninformed, illogical and unreasonable portion of our population that has destroyed our country.

Be Happy Now...
While alive
Don't
Worry
Too much
About where
You will be buried
After you die
For we all
Live a global village
And in this tiny village
No matter where you buried
You will be so close without a doubt
To your next kin village fellow human being
Even if your body
Is turned into
Dust and powder
Scattered around...
Just Don't Worry!

by XerXes (not verified) on Mon Dec 08, 2008 10:17 PM PSTDo you really care about people's right and freedom? I doubt that
How do you think we are going to have democracy? by allowing US and Zions to show us the way? similar to Egypt and neighboring country?
The hanging is not the government, it's you, the society. the reason you hear that is because there are more reflection about this stupid actions in Iran, but China, Turkey, Rgypt, Saudi and the rest, including the Zions have atrocious acts back and forth. You Hear Iran because and only because Iran is independent and they are not. Are you going to dispute this?
We will have democracy, and Zions can take their dreams of Iran agreeing with their mind set to their graves. Watch and see how Iran will grow as time goes on...

country can only get better through reform
by Ali Sefati (not verified) on Mon Dec 08, 2008 06:18 PM PSTa US/Israel/Western Lead War will only kill millions of our innocenent hamvatans and will put the country back in stone ages, will rise Islamic extremism even more, and will unleash violent conflict between fractions within Iran.
A revolution won't work either because unlike Pahlavi regime, IRI regime is willing to kill anyone in name of their idealogy.
Only through a reform Iran will be better. IRI system has a hole, and that is that they have an elected government that is currently with the self appointed Islamic government, but if there is a successful campaign ran and more serious reformers are elected and are in control of the elected government, they can implement reform and slowly go against IRI. It will be just matter of time then we see a true democratic and free Iran.
Bunch of wild animals
by Mehdi on Mon Dec 08, 2008 02:37 PM PSTAmazing how easy it is to fool people into a new "revolution" where the whole nation is burned to the ground and a new dictatorship takes over. Apparently Iranians will repeat that action a million times and never learn anything. Everybody seem to be cheering these group of stupid "students" who have NO CLUE what hey want or where they are going. Just a bunch of frustrated idiots running around like cattle and agents of foreign countries openly cheering them on. Just look at the well know "Zionists" on this site who have openly advocated bombing of Iran by US and Israel, now cheering these "brave" morons on! When do we learn? What is in destruction that we love so much? Why can't we be civil?
We are all responsible
by Hedayat Hassan (not verified) on Mon Dec 08, 2008 02:10 PM PSTOne of students in 16 Azar said: You made university Prison; we will make prison university. This is the most beautiful poetry that I have ever heard and also a great reality that is cited so beautiful.
There is a long time that our universities are Prisons. Our country is prison. Also in the age of Shah and Reza Shah was the same. But could we arrive ever to make prisons university?
There is long time that I am thinking If Ayatollah Khomeini had the same education as Mossadegh and Gandhi ( For example at a Ph D level in Law) he could be like them to be like a father of nation?
If the answer is positive we can see how education could be important and how lake of education could create disasters for a nation.
Who is responsible? Yes I know the dictatorship is responsible. Because it is in the dictatorship conditions, that, society can not provide good education for all.
But for all people who want to change the society I have tendency to say that all we are responsible.
If some one like Ahmadi Nejad non educated come out from our schools and our universities we are all responsible. We are responsible because we were his teachers or we are responsible for that we were not his teacher because we did not participate in his education.
I guess our society understood now how education is important. So that every body become teacher: taxi drivers, barbers, students in universities and…. It seems our country is a big university. A big university in a big prison.
I think every body in our society should fill responsible to participate in this university.
Yes we will learn every day; we will let every day others to learn. When all people learned there will not be any more guards for prison. If they bring guards from Lebanon Philistine, Iraq we will teach them also. We will teach them freedom and how make their land free.
And for our teachers who are under so much pressure: please do some how that nobody like Ahmadi Nejad come out of our schools again. Please study why he became like this? Is he was under pressure? In fact all people who practice torture are come out from our schools.
We are all responsible…

Has given Iranians no freedom of expression for their political views. There are many useless channels open, But we must thank God that the people have seen the light and will soon "help" such government to be no more and lift the clouds of darkness. But as you may see here, the vested interest in Iran dont want all this to vanish so that the likes of Xer or Zer can continue to flourish in the name of hate and oppression.

We, and the International community, have an obligation to support these students, since the removal of the IRI regime does not only mean the liberation of Iran, it also means the removal of a regime that posesess the greatest threat to world peace and stability.
