Davar Ardalan
by Mehrdokht (not verified) on Sun Jun 01, 2008 11:46 AM PDTLong time listener of NPR I had heard Ms. Ardalan and had respect for her work long before I read her book, "My Name is Iran". I was disappointed her calling Masjid Suleiman "Sulieman's Mosque". Consider if one referred to New York as "York-e Tazeh" or St. Louis as "Louis-e Moghadas" in a book either writen in or translated to Persian. That is not done!
I still enjoy Ms. Ardalan's work, just the same.
She's a doll
by NPR (not verified) on Fri May 30, 2008 09:23 PM PDTI love listening to NPR and I love Ms. Ardalan. She makes us proud to be an eloquent member of the American media (rare phenomenon for Iranians). She speaks beautifully and is just adorable.
In my opinion (just based on the limited view of JJ's family), the family's gene pool overall has a strong talent for social science, literature & political science.
Peace!
I am so proud of her, wish

by kayvana (not verified) on Fri May 30, 2008 11:19 AM PDTI often listen to NPRs "Weekend edition" program and I think it's really well produced. Now we know why :->
She is great Iranian
by Alborzi (not verified) on Fri May 30, 2008 04:46 AM PDTIts good to see Iranians despite all the prejudices
make their greatness known. I hope she will be more prolific and publish, she should teach the world about Persia, before the rednecks start again.
Equally proud
by mahmoudg on Thu May 29, 2008 09:42 PM PDTI am equally proud of her. She is an alumni of the Iranzamin High school , which has produced many great Iranian-Americans like Davar, Rudy Bakhtiar, Mohesen Moazami, Shahin Shahida, Speher Hadad, etc. etc.
Way to go Iran....
Bah bah

A True Persian not to mention beautiful
I love NPR and now I enjoy it even more.
I knew about her but did not know that you were related. Wow what a family! I am proud to hear such success from my fellow Persians.
I am proud of her!
by Nader on Thu May 29, 2008 03:33 PM PDTI met her during a book signing in Palo Alto last year, and she is a lovely person. Very educated and also cute I might add:-)
Beat me to it!
by Party Girl on Thu May 29, 2008 02:00 PM PDTGood going JJ! In my queue of "interesting Iranians," I was actually going to recommend her as Iranian of the Day with this 2006 video clip, in which she talks about the love story of your grandparents, Helen and Abol Ghassem Bakhtiar.
She is remarkable and she is beautiful and she makes me proud as an Iranian. Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I hope it was NPR-worthy gossip!
