Of all the countries i have visited, the most friendly, hospitable, gracious, generous and welcoming people i met in iran. the treasure of iran are her people. we were showered with affection. iran (i prefer to call it Persia) is one of the great civilisations of humanity, and the country is strewn with mosques, bazaars and gardens of great antiquity and stunning beauty. Modern iran unfortunately comes with pollution, traffic, potato chips and coca cola. The fanatics that our media like to show, i did not meet a single one. instead, i met many educated, civilised and intensely curious individuals who are proud of their heritage and want to be part of the bigger world. They like their own government as much as i like ours. If you can, travel to iran.

WOW!!! The best collection that I have seen in a long time
by iraj khan on Wed Jan 28, 2009 11:02 PM PSTThese are not ordinary tourist pictures. They are full of feelings, moods and compassion. I was blown away by the beauty of colors, shapes, light, compositions and architecture. I believe these pictures are taken by professional photographer/s. Thanks for posting them.
Q: what kind of camera/lense was used to take these pictures? Let me know if it's possible.
Thank you

Go ahead just blame the boys!
by Anonymous.... (not verified) on Wed Jan 28, 2009 10:35 PM PSTPlease object to their mothers about why girls dress in black tents as I can assure you the boys are completely againt it as well. Though it really adds to flirting. And is that you in slide 12? You look really hot in your persian hejab! Did you by chance take a picture of you wearing a black head scarf that you think you might post for us to see? ;^)
Your pictures are terrfic also! Cheers to you!

by JD (not verified) on Wed Jan 28, 2009 07:28 PM PSTYou have taken the best photographs from Iran I have seen in the past 15 years. It clearly shows you were having a good time, motivated and enthusiastic. The angles of photography were the best with very clever thinking.
I hope you go back and then combine all your photographs and publish a book about Iran, something I always dream of doing.
Tilo you have a great eye for composition and colors
