Thanks so much for sharing
by Party Girl on Fri Aug 15, 2008 12:43 AM PDTThanks so much for sharing these photographs. I miss the Iranian theater so much. Living outside of Iran, these days it's not so hard to be able to attend Iranian music concerts or performances. There is a serious void, however, of good theater in these parts. I remember every year when the theater season opened in Tehran City Theater (Teatre-e-Shahr), there were multiple plays on at the same time, each in a different hall. Sometimes they had so many plays at the same time, there was even one going on at the coffee shop, where the performers moved in between the tables and interacted with the people having a snack!
Around where I live, my Iranian stage actor friends tell me they can't put on very many plays because there isn't a big demand and they can't even break even when they produce plays here. I don't know how to solve this problem, but I know that I miss Iranian plays very much.
