Photo essay: Majestic landscapes of Atlantic Canada
Canada can be a dismal place to visit in the winter, particularly if one is not into winter sports, but in the summer the Great White North is full of breathtaking beauty, unmatched contrasts, and majestic landscapes. I just returned from a vacation to Atlantic Canada with some pictures that were taken with a cheap camera and an iPhone. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures, and visit the Atlantic Provinces of Canada when your schedule allows.
Gorgeous Pictures!

by gol-dust on Thu Jul 23, 2009 05:11 PM PDT15 years i was in Nova scotia, prince edwards and quebec, but i always dreamed of going to newfoundland, since i had seen so much of virgin lands in the photos. Someday! I love canada and the people. In fact, even when i would go to places with no one around, or full of people, I always felt much safer thant the US. Thanks for sharing! God bless!

Thanks for Your Comments and Questions
by Mort Gilani on Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:19 PM PDTDear Gol-Dust
You are absolutely right. The desolateness of Newfoundland and Labrador, and swarming black flies in those regions often make one feel like a pioneer. I took my car not knowing I had to drive on gravel roads.
The majority of the pictures were taken in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, but few pictures from Quebec, two from New Brunswick, and one from Prince Edward Island are also included in the essay.
There are two ferries that run from North Sidney (Nova Scotia) to Newfoundland. I took the one to Port aux Basques.
I am glad you enjoyed the photos.
Thanks for the memory! Looks as it was 200 years ago as pioneer!
by gol-dust on Wed Jul 22, 2009 09:51 PM PDTsaw it. It really is amazing when you go there! You feel the presence of pioneers. Virgin land. We should enjoy it now, since i don't how it would look become 100 years from now. I am just glad it is not part of the capitaist Republican US.
Which part of canada is this? is it Newfound land? hos did you get there? Enjoyed all your gorgeous photos!
