shiiaism is Monarchy--Monarchy is never dead. QED
by no_name (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 11:46 AM PSTShah had his flaws, but if anyone is arguing he is as bad as IRI, he/she either has no concept of reality, a Mujahed traitor, or an IRI agent.
Shah made a few critical mistakes, but at heart he was a decent person and the ground he walked on is not worth to throw on the face of Rajavis and the rest of the idiots they have duped.
In general the days of Monarchy is outnumbered, but Iran at soul and heart is a society attracted to a person rather than a system. Shiiaism at heart is Monarchy on top of Islam, it believes in the sainthood on paternal lineage, very much how Monarchy is based on Paternal lineage of power.
I think anyone who knows the Iranians at heart, can understand how Monarchy has deep cultural roots in Iran and it will not disappear anytime soon.
Whether you like it or not, the only person who has not been tainted and has a recognizable name is Reza Pahlavi with the only chance of mobilizing any sort of movement. Else, we just have to wait for Iran to evolve on its on pace.
I know all about it
by Colonel Hemayat (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 11:30 AM PST1-Hoveida was offered release from jail during the early days of revolution, he refused the offer and wanted to go on trail to prove his innocence, and he got shot, how his blood is on H.I.M' hand, I don't fucking know????Although, I agree jailing Hoveida was a lame ass gesture .
2- The Shah was not a coward, he loved his people and disliked bloodshed, one could say he was not a man of crisis I don't know whether Iranians would have preffered SADDAM kind of SHAH or H.I.M. kind of SHAH? Maybe we would have been better off with SADDAM kind of SHAH?
3-FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, every single progress during IRI has been a plan left from SHAH's regime. Any one with a sense of a dog knows , we would have been the JAPAN of the Middle East by now.
4- Another big FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU,
IRAQ was NOT able to defeat Iran, simply because of the ROYAL army training, staff and war machines. Patroitism played a big rule as well but even that was insipired by 50 years of Pahlavi ruling.Let's see how little your average Iranian gives a fuck in the next war.
5- Mohammad Reza Shah and Reza Shah the great were the best things happen to Iran in the last 1400 years.
6- Nazanin had a good point, we have heros in Iran fighting as we speak but we shall not forget our past or we are condemned to repeat it. Let's us old timers wallow in the past sometime.
7- Alborzi, foad, etc SUCK COCK. SUCK COCK and then SUCK more COCK.
He ordered shots to be directed in the Air!!!
by Kouroush Sassian (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 11:19 AM PSTBiggest mistake he ever made was to actually loved these khorossuckers arabo/muslim idiots!!! All orders should have been to direct all fire into the bastards who ruined Iran.
Ironically, IRI is making up for what he should have done! LOL!!! bekeshen mardom...khobeeh...do loupee...shekanjenh bebeneed....I love it...so much suffering in Iran...oh, I need another lemonade....
The writer of this book Naghib Zadeh
by Shahrokh T (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:10 AM PSTI remember the writer of the book. He later on became the assistance to Mrs. Parsa (Minster of Ed.). After 1979, he had rented an apartment cross the street from our house. He was keeping a low profile. After I left Iran, I have found out that he has passed away in late 80s. His wife moved to Varmin and his daughter attended the university of Tehran and moved in university dorm.
When I looked at the content of the book, I am totally surprised that how Khalkhali let him be out of Ghasar prison and be alive. May be he has not seen this book. Anyways, he was a nice man regardless of his political view.
God bless him.
Javid Shah!

Monarchy is history (Dead)
by Kermanshan4life (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 09:46 AM PSTThe Late Shah was no better than the IRI. He too suppressed and tortured the minorities specially the Kurds with the help of SAVAK. However his son has taken steps to meet with oppositions specially the minority groups in order to create a united front. Because of that I believe he can have a minor role in the future of Iran but not as a king.
Iran will never be a monarchy Again
by John Carpenter (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 09:09 AM PSTMohammad Reza Pahlavi destroyed Iran. He was an evil man. Human Rights watch and Amnesty International have said that the Shah tortured people. In 1979, the Iranian masses kicked the Shah out of Iran. No REAL Iranian likes the Shah. The Shah is dead. Monarchy is dead. Thank God. And God bless America.
Thank you Dariush. Magazines
by Ardeshir Keyvan (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 08:57 AM PSTThank you Dariush. Magazines and books that belong to that era are the best documents for the young generation like me to see once upon a time Iran used to be a country running by well educated and classy people.
A happy time for our country, the golden age of Iran.
Please keep sending these stuff, they are absolutely necessary since Islamic regime and it's supporters try their best to demonize everything belong to those time.
You think he was schitzoid?
by Alborzi (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 08:19 AM PSTFirst Iranians achieved better things because they
are Iranians. Even in the US, I notice that a poor immigrant
Iranian achieves more than your Mexican immigrant.
What is better for Iranians (than Shah), the Iranians will decide. They are a heroic nation.
About Shah, not only he was coward, he was schizoid too. Look during all those years not a single mile of rail road wasbuilt. The amount of activity in Iran (now) is significant.
There is a paved road from Hamadan to Isfahan and they had to do it under sanctions. When I was in Iran, I was amazed how much advanced they are in software (they were using SAP with no support). I am not religious at all, in fact we were all leftist in Iran.
Now you may ask how do you figure he was schizoid,
the guy put Bakhtiar to save him. Now even if he was able to control events Bakhtiar would not save him.

Great King
by XerXes (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 07:53 AM PSTGreat king with no balls! too bad. I guess no body is perfect
I have a problem with generalization...
by Midwesty on Wed Nov 07, 2007 07:48 AM PSTWhile I don't support Shah specifically but I believe we owe him a great deal of advancement militarily and culturally. Please do not generalize. He had his own share of weaknesses and strengths like any other good leaders in the history. In your eyes he was coward but in somebody else’s eyes he wasn't able emotionally to kill his own people. He loved Iran and established one of the top 10 military might in the world. He built great universities, museums, theaters, and so on. Modern Iran owes him her infrastructure in terms of roads, airports and industries. He gave massive opportunity to the intellectuals to dare to open their mouth in one of the most conservative society in the West Asia. Some of these intellects unconsciously used the same privilege that he gave them to criticize him in return. What we fail to see is that these great leaders, including Mosaddegh, and Khomeini have contributed to the today's Iran but people who don't see the advancement in today's Iran they also fail to see the great contributions these great leaders of Iran have made. You should see this through Molavi’s eyes, “khar foroshaneh yeki ba degari dar jangand…leek choon vanegari mottahede yek karand”. It refers to an Iranian old Saturday Bazaar tradition where couple of vendors in order to sell a defective donkey to the poor buyer, started a fake war amongst themselves in order to promote their product and rip off the poor buyer (jange zargari). May god bless all of our recent history’s leaders.

Too much nostalgia = a bad thing
by Nazanin (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 06:55 AM PSTThere are far braver people in Iran right now fighting and risking themselves while this family did the easy thing and left Iran (the case of Hoveyda is indeed betrayal). People in Iran are making history and its more relevant than the Shah standing up in a convertible or shaking hands with a woman. I wish the stuff on Delaram Ali and others like her would be more central to what is happening in Iran. Constantly looking back on all these men for inspiration is a waste of time.
Our Britany Spears
by Alborzi (not verified) on Wed Nov 07, 2007 06:13 AM PSTI did go through all of the pictures. This man was responsible for one of the most violent revolution. He was coward (left Hoveida in Jail) and left Iran with a jar of soil. Many Iranians paid with their life for his stupidity (including our family), Iran was invaded by Arabs and if it was not by sacrifice, God knows what would happen. Iran is still in jeopardy because of him. So why look at the pictures, its like Brittany Spears on access Holly Wood, you can't help looking even though you think she is a bitch.
