What a waste
by Iran First (not verified) on Thu Mar 05, 2009 05:50 PM PSTAll this for some Arab who wanted to have power from another Arab and got killed for his idiocy of facing a larger force, and poor Iranian people are still forced to cry 1400 years later !
We will see how many people will "celebrate" these khorafat and imposed savage Islam, if we had a free country. Read history (not the IRI kind) and see how our ancestors fought Islam for 200 years after it was imposed on our people.

by Anonymous9999 (not verified) on Tue Mar 03, 2009 03:36 PM PSTWe Iranians living abroad have found our real IDENTITY which is being IRANIAN. It seems you are still in the deep 1400 years old sleep. It is time to wake up and first change your Arab name and get a real iranian name and then start educating yourself about the fundation of Islam and how your Iranian people were coerced into Islam. You need to obtain a little savaad in order to meet the concept of humanity!!!.
I got a stomach ache from that

by Anonymous 10 (not verified) on Tue Mar 03, 2009 01:45 PM PSTTake a good look at the ladies wearing the traditional outfits because we are probably the last generation to enjoy them. Most women now days are replacing their traditional clothing with black chadoors. This is going on through out Iran.
Please educate yourself
by Fatima (not verified) on Tue Mar 03, 2009 01:26 PM PSTIt is sad that you Iranian living abroad had lost your identity. Islam reformed Judaism and Christianity and removed all the nonsense written in Old Testament and New testament. I think all you guys need is a little sense of humanity, humility, pride, and a little SAVADDDDDDD

I was saddened by the neglect of the buildings, poverty, zombified religious sheeple...how sad and tragic for once a great nation.

pre islam
by Anonym1anno@yahoo.com (not verified) on Mon Mar 02, 2009 02:35 PM PSTMany Iranian Muslims take great pride in their pre-Islamic roots. But it is the government that continues to despise the Zoroastrian faith. After the Islamic revolution, life has become an ordeal for the Zoroastrians, Christians, Jews and Baha’i as the post-revolution governments have shown close to no tolerance for other faiths.

by Ana111 (not verified) on Mon Mar 02, 2009 02:28 PM PSTWith a unique reddish hue, the village is one of the oldest in Iran, attracting numerous native and foreign tourists year-round, especially during traditional feasts and ceremonies.
Abyaneh has been called an entrance to Iranian history. The local clothing, for example, is in a style of great antiquity. An Abyunaki woman typically wears a white long scarf (covering the shoulders and upper trunk) which has a colourful pattern and an under-knee skirt. Even the most immediate villages' women have different dress style so that one could tell if she is from Abyaneh or not. They have persistently maintained this traditional costume despite pressures from time to time by the government trying to change it.
Abyaneh also resisted conversion to Islam throughout the ages, and stayed Zoroastrian until it was forced to convert to Shi'ite Islam in the time of the Saffavid Shahs, as were many other villages and towns that had held onto the Zoroastrian religion until then.

by Anonymous-9999 (not verified) on Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:32 PM PSTBanoo Sanazi, are you joking? Hussein and Humanity? Hussein was against the humanity and he had the blood of wild animals like hyenas. Do you know how many Iranians were beheaded and killed by him and how many women were raped by him. Do you know that he considered the value of you women equal to the left testis of men. If you like I can provide you with more info about the butchers like Hussein, Ali and ....... You are insulting yourself and all free Iranians by sayin Ashura is the reflection of humanity. Please stop it.
"Suck it up"
by Danesh (not verified) on Mon Mar 02, 2009 11:52 AM PSTApprently ashure is the only collective social gathering in which the iranian men are allowed socially to cry in public with tears rolling down on his cheeks...without penalty... other than this you must "suck it all up" no mater how oppressive or sad the social situation has become for him...
of course there are few exceptions here and there to prove the rule,,,
Tran: a way too tough society on men...

To, Gij o Vij, Last group to convert to Islam
by Anonymous 78 (not verified) on Mon Mar 02, 2009 11:02 AM PSTMy understanding is that people from abyaneh were some of the last groups of Iranians converted to Islam. They were Zoroastrians up until 200 years ago. The conversion was not voluntary.

Iranians were coerced firts by Arabs into backward Islam then by Turks into Shia religion. If Islam has some Aberoo is just because of us Iranians!!!!!!.

Things You Never Forget
Instead of
Spoon feeding me
With clear cut answer
She gives me an incomplete design...
A tentative map...
Suggestion...
Hints...
Mystical winking...
A thought full pause...
A little sweet smile decorating her eyes...
And when I put together
All the sings and signals together
And find the answer on my own
This time the discovery
Sinks all the way to the bottom of my mind
Like a stone going down straight
To hit and stay at the bottom of ocean
For complete remembering
Yes, this is the way
To remember God during the gardening
In tangible way
Like holding the Conch statue at hand for assurance
When too busy uprooting the weeds
