Looking for a fight

Photo essay: Iran's naval exercises

AP: Iran closed out naval war games in the Gulf on Tuesday much the way they began last month: striking a tone of military defiance while Western powers rallied behind tougher oil and financial sanctions as a crippling tool against Tehran's nuclear program. The standoff atmosphere — less than a week after Iran warned it could block one of the world's key oil tanker sea lanes in response to economic pressures — appeared to deepen further with an Iranian general suggesting a U.S. aircraft carrier is not welcome to return to the Gulf >>>

In picture #2, what kind of fire do they think that they are going to put out with those tiny extinguishers?

Why in the majority of the pictures people are saluting? Shouldn't they be battling instead?

by hirre on

The small ships (much like US coast guard ships) are actually quite effective against the big cruisers, but against destroyers they are not that effective unless they can arm them with custom made missiles & torpedos...

The sad thing is that Iran will be utterly humiliated if it enters a full scale war against the US. It will be Iraq all over again but with of course more humans involved...

shushtari

couple of funny things I noticed....

by shushtari on

-do you guys notice how all the 'commanders' are fat pigs?? compare this to our army before the fiasco of 1979!!!

-funny how these idiots are using AMERICAN F-4 PLANES AND HUEY HELICOPTERS......and 'ordering' the US not to enter the persian gulf!!!

it can't get funnier than that....what a pathetic bunch of buffons who are a disgrace to iran's great history of having some of the most advanced armies on earth

I do know of someone with a cousin in the IRGC.  Unfortunately, he is 'unavailable' at this time:
