by withaheart (not verified) on Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:46 PM PDTWhy would anyone even think about bombing Iran? These pictues were so simple and great.
Thank you so much for
by Shirin Saeidi on Fri Apr 03, 2009 10:21 PM PDTThank you so much for this--it made my day. I have actually been in Karaj during 13 bedar and it's just as fun as these photos suggest!
all the best,
Shirin
great eye for the mundane!
by Anonymously on Fri Apr 03, 2009 09:34 PM PDTthe ordinary, the everyday. this is the real iran. the 80%, if not 90. not the intellectualizing, the philosophizing, the sermonizing. not the revolutionaries, the war-mongers, the atom-bomb making. everyday folks in search of everyday comforts, proud of their simple humanity. great job and thank you!
(these few pictures gives me more pride to be an iranian than all the glitz and glamor cherry-picked from the past and routinely peddled on this site.)
How simple and natural
by Mehbod (not verified) on Fri Apr 03, 2009 09:20 PM PDTI lost over 30 of them. Darn it, time creeps on you.
Thank you Khanom Ravon!

by aliali (not verified) on Fri Apr 03, 2009 04:06 PM PDTsimplicity of 13 bedar in Karaj worth more than looking at eid events with brands name and puppies in Westwood, there is reality and fake, soul and soulless. in the end , fake and soulless will fail.

by Sid Sarshar on Fri Apr 03, 2009 03:16 PM PDTGive me a few days. I will check my photo bank and see what I have. The idea of blending in with nature has not cought on in Iran yet. For now, Outdoing nature is in.
Sid.
Thanks Sid Sarshar
by Ari Siletz on Fri Apr 03, 2009 03:05 PM PDTOptic bright colors were introduced into camping tents precisely because they clashed with the environment, making it easier to spot by the the rescue helicopter. Now do you see why the world hangs in the balance on this issue?
Great stuff
by shirazie (not verified) on Fri Apr 03, 2009 03:00 PM PDTThat was real stuff. No one to ruin your day with handing you leaflets of -Bahiaism, Mormonism, Christianity stuff. The grap that goes on in Irvine, SoCal every year.
I am jealous
beautiful pictures
by IRANdokht on Fri Apr 03, 2009 02:32 PM PDTThank you so much for taking me there with your wonderful photos.
I loved how they used good china and glassware at the picnic. Persian tea never tastes as good as when it's served in a glass.
I wished they would provide people with public parks that have safe built-in fire pits for kabob, accessible plumbing and shaded areas. It doesn't cost much and our people love picnics.

To Ari
by Sid Sarshar on Fri Apr 03, 2009 02:29 PM PDTIf you visit Shomal, you will see that people are building homes with these colors in the middle of beautiful green mountains. "Haft Rang" is in. Mano Bebin!
The spirit of 13 Bedar is evident in these pictures. Faranak did a wonderful job of catching the moment. I can't remember when was the last time I looked at an essay with over a 100 pictures and still wanted to see more, Great job.

by hamidbak on Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:14 PM PDTMan, Iranians in Iran have a lot to learn about 13bedar...
There were no black BeBe outfits, no Gucci sunglasses, no Dolce & Gabbana pants...what the hell?
Good pics...take me back to a time where things were done the way they were meant to be, simple and without luxury...
Bah Bah aali bood!

WOW!!!
by Akkas (not verified) on Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:42 AM PDTFaranack the Persian saying of 'last year friend, this year acquintance' applies to you. Your 13 bedar photos from last year to this year is literally a world apart!
This one is truly unique and one of the best 13 bedar albums I've seen. My favorite were these:
