Smiles and Unity

Photo essay: Bahai gathering in Maine

While the appalling news of widespread human rights abuse in Iran, particularly the targeting of Iranian Bahais is a cause for sadness and shame; there is hope. The candid photos presented here were taken at a recent summer Bahai gathering in Maine, U.S., with families from all over the world. With the hope that, one day soon in Iran, all of us regardless of our ethnicity or religion could with a long cherished goal, create and witness the same smiles and unity on the faces of Iranian families and their children, regardless of whether they are Zoroastrian, Jewish, Christian, Sunni, Shia or Bahai.

Bravo Faryar!

The subject was appropriate, and the images were wonderful.

One nation under god, and the rest is personal...

Hopefully we'll celebrate similar gatherings in Iran soon.

Best.
