Wikipedia: Doroteo Arango Arámbula (June 5, 1878 – July 20, 1923), better known as Francisco or "Pancho" Villa, was a Mexican Revolutionary general. In his own version of his life at the age of 16 he shot an older man, the son of a big landowner, who had tried to rape Pancho's younger sister Martina. After this, being pursued for murder, he escaped. (This version is debunked - see Jeff Howell at References below.) where is his house? Juarez Mexico?

He is my hero, General "Black Jack" Pershing had two major failures .

1. was not able to catch Villa and spend months in Mexico chasing him
2. lost almost all of his army in WW1

Villa proved US army of 1910's was incapable and ill equipped, but US still entered bloody WW1

my understanding is that he was a ladies man and was killed by a jealous husband. He was also treated as a criminal after the revolution and was not allowed to enter the palace. Basically betrayed by Zappata

Yes, the lens is mightier than the rusty blade! Thanks for the great pics. One favor, the Wikipedia article linked to your photo essay mentions a guy named Ari Najarian, apparently a sidekick of Pancho Villa's. This dude seems to have fallen off the pages of history. Since you're in the neighborhood, would you ask around? Maybe Iran was exporting its revolutions even back then.
