by Rosie T. (not verified) on Tue Oct 23, 2007 12:14 AM PDTYes, there are MANY people working two, three jobs in the US, and it is indefensible. Don't you know that this is because of the combination of multinationals moving almost all manufacturing to the Second and Third World in order to circumvent paying the salaries of factory workers here, which were unionized, of these same multinationals outsourcing low-level high tech and customer service jobs to English-speaking places like India for similar reasons, and of corporate CEO's and other high executives making grotesquely, unprecedentedly high salaries while LOWERING workers' wages? Do you have any idea what MISERABLE lives these people lead working for really low wages without even benefits or job security? Don't you know that this trend has only been going on for about one generation? Do YOU work eighteen hours a day? Do you have CHILDREN and work eighteen hours a day? Is YOUR eighteen-hour a day job or your two or three jobs adding up to eighteen hours a day back-breaking work?
To use the degeneration of the American dream into the American nightmare as a justification for deplorable work conditions in Iran is... well... deplorable. Don't you understand this?

by Faribors maleknasri M.D. (not verified) on Sat Oct 20, 2007 12:16 PM PDT1.I think we would better not expect that a stranger comes and help us to have a better life. According to the proncipal that We say in Farsi: KAS NAKHARAD POSHTE MAN JOS NAKHONE ANGOSHTE MAN.
2. I think Mr. Bush is the least talented and most unsuitable for the job. According to the principal we say in FARSI: KAL AGAER TABIB BUDI SARE KHOD DAVA NEMUDI.
3. I think we can learn from the eastern germans. For many many years, from 1945 to 1989/90/91 they dreamed from rich brother in western germany. they dreamed and hopped the rich brother come someday and bring them prosperity and wealth. Well the big brother came and took even away the little they had. so now is Mr. Bush our brother? may be he is. a handsam young Iranian from Yasd - so it is said - had ajob as a driver by his Mother of the Mr. president. Unfortunately he does not know it. So he would come, if he could come, and take us again the little we have away. Do we want it? Of course not. he does not even dare to come as a enemy. Since so many years he is barking, standing in sure distance. But biting? he can not. His expiry date is run out. Greeting
Be realistic...........
by Faribors Maleknasri M.D. (not verified) on Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:54 AM PDTI think the pictures are recent. But i have no hint about what salary the womenworkers get. I do not know if they are cheapworkers. why nearly every one who writes a comment is sure the workers are only cheep workers? why nobody treis to make it sure? Other day the Guests of "Iranian" complain there are no jobs in Iran. Now we see that at least these women do have ajob. But we do not want to take this side of the matter in to account. somebody, a commenwriter wants to make love to ayatollahs to get rid of his unpleasant reaktion he has because of the fotos. As if it would solve any problem. I mean not even his own personal problem get a solution after all.? my be he gets, with God`s help a better idea getting rid at least of his own problems. Greetings
I doubt it. Greeting

Those 70 Million fanatics have started with beeing original. I think it was about 1978/ 79. at that time they counted only 30 Millions, now they are allready 70 Millions. I am sure the future is theirs. The expiry date of westerns is allready over so is of all hegemonists and Hatefull people who can not stand the success of others. Greetings

by Faribors Maleknasri M.D. (not verified) on Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:26 AM PDTI like the pictures. i have downloaded them all. i am happy to poses them. Let us analyse them together.
1. Which hit do i get, when i see that this work is done by women? We see only one coworker, one man. so it means the work is physikaly not a heavy work. and why women get this job? because the men have other hardworks. right? It is a honourable job for a woman, not comprable with the jobs the women get in western countries.
2. the ones who remember the time in the 1950 and 60 and lateron know that at that time this work was done by men. they had to load hotboilling tiles on GARI DASTI and drive them down a dusty road. not rarely flew the GARY DASTY on the side, the tiles had to be loaded again AND: Those workers were paid by piece! the work area was called KUREHA. and how these our honourable sisters are paid? i wonder why NOBODY asks, nobody is interessted in the background facts. How is the healthcare, how is this and that, why no one asks these questions? and demands answeres?
3. In opposit to the inhuman working conditions in the past, now the invironment is just full of humanity. The workers can bring their childeren to work. And the little boy does have a tricycle. I ask me: Has have EVER a child of a worker could only dream of a tricycle in Iran?
4. i mean only we must first clear thousends of questions before we go and say bad words. I mean only: Please be logical. let the strangers hate us. it is not our Job to do that! Greeting

Now akhunds can burn alive in the fires we will set for them some day. However. poverty exists every where. Even if bush came to help us change the regime, you think poverty would be extinct?
We have natural resources enough to help us walk on Jupiter. However, until our government and the international community is stealing from us, these workers will be working. If Bush does anything, it will make it worse.
It's up to us to make changes and bull shitting on this site does nothing. So stop swearing at mullahs and let's swear at ourselves. We are a bunch of mother fuckers because we allow this sort of thing to go on in our land.

What do I think she would be doing if this type of work were mechanized? I would think she would be working in an environment where a machine would do most of physical work. Would I think she would be a streetwalker in Tehran or Esfehan? No I wouldn’t. I don’t think honorable hardworking people like these women who are so committed to their families are going to be prostitutes. What is wrong with honorable work like this? There is nothing wrong with honorable work, however brick laying by hand should have been extinct by now.

brick laying
by iranican5 (not verified) on Fri Oct 19, 2007 03:43 PM PDTMazloom Ast,
If this work was mechanized, what do you think she would be doing right now? Streetwalking in Tehran and Esfehan? There are people working 2, 3 jobs right here in the US every day. Hard work is everywhere and I'm sure is not new to Iran. American Iranians so rich that they just can't comprehend that a lot of people around the world (and in the US) have to do hard manual labor every day. Not everyone can own a rug store or a restaurant fellas, but even those people probably put in 18 hours a day a lot.
paid by the number of bricks
by Mazloom on Fri Oct 19, 2007 03:06 PM PDTThe brick workers get paid by the number of bricks they lay every day, which is not much, that’s why they have to work so many long hours every day. I believe the conditions are cruel and inhumane. This type of manual labor should have been mechanized years ago. I do not believe this is slavery in a legal and economical sense where a person has legal ownership of another person. Never the less condemnation to the IRI regime for even having such conditions.
