Dear *capt_ayhab* - I’m afraid that I may fail miserably in fulfilling your request, as I’m neither a religious scholar nor a historian.  I don’t speak for the Baha’i community either but, as one, I’ll share a few points here.

It is a common phenomenon that the followers of all great religions, from the moment of inception of their faith, have been faced with opposition, misunderstandings, hatred, and violence.  The corresponding religious teachings determined how best the opposing forces should be confronted.  At times, violence was required and at other times more peaceful or even passive resistance has been the order of the day.  Baha’is acknowledge this sad fact but are taught not to allow hatred in their hearts. 

Resorting to hate, oppression, and violence against one’s opponents is easy, if not down right primitive.  The challenge is to eliminate all forms of cruelties through understanding, nobility, and freedom.

Hopefully I am not too late to shed some light on your question as to the group who are target of hate, whether on this site or perhaps entire world.

MUSLIMS, and I do not mean Islam, I mean MUSLIMS as people who are target of ugliest of all hate and bigotry. Regretfully, after Sept 11 demonizing MUSLIMS has become [cool]. Even the people who have been historically subject of most brutal hate campaign and genocide are tolerating [ISLAM BASHING]. Of course not all people fall into this category, only the few who are either high profile media celebrities[Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Greet Wilder  and organizations such as Fox News[Rupert Murdock].

Rev. Jerry Vines, the former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, popular televangelist Benny Hinn, Franklin Graham , Hal Lindsey, author of books such as "The Everlasting Hatred: The Roots of
Jihad." Titles by other authors include "Religion of Peace, or Refuge
of Terror," "War on Terror: Unfolding Bible Prophecy," and "Islam and Terrorism.", William Lind of the Free Congress Foundation, Secret Service agent admitted scrawling "Islam is Evil" and "Christ is King" on a Muslim prayer calendar,

is beause there is no God to believe in. Why don't you just let yourself FEEL God instead?

Suggest you look into some kind of Buddhist or serious Hindu yogic practice. As a friend of mine once sang 'God is everywhere. Over here. Over there.' Think of IT as a she, if it helps

I don't believe in God so I believe that by an amazing mathematical convergance, something remarkable happened on this planet, that is a being capable of seeing an immeasurable beauty came to walk up-right and associate all that there was, and like a child catching a glimps of his mother looked at the Universe in wonder.

I hate it when the child does not know who he is, and that in the absence of a father he is the one who is the light and Guardian of her mother's breasts that feed him.

It's deceptive, underhanded, retarded, undemocratic, desperate, and it's sad that the powers that be go along with it.

Annony8 -- yes, I do believe in something, and that noble thing is called the land of Iran. I belive in the Iranian culture. I believe in preserving the Persian language. I believe in the majesty of the Persian Empire. I believe in Iranian literature. I believe in the poetic beauty of the Shahnameh. I worship my country, first and foremost, and above any God, Shah or Sheikh, religion or dogma.

In fact, my religion is IRAN... and my God is Cyrus the Great.

i think it is clear it has been muslims. i know for a fact it has been so in the past week. i have read hundreds of attacks against muslims. this is why i wrote my own blog, "i am a proud iranian muslim" today.

For those who don't speak Persian, the great gitdoun has just told me that saying death to Islam equals saying death to Iranian muslims. I simply shook my head in disbelief when I read gg's brilliantly asinine comment. 

PLEASE, dear gitdoun, use a little gray matter before you express your flamboyantly distorted views. You actually seem like a nice guy, but boy, were you raised in a mosque, I wonder?

If I say death to Islam, I'm saying death to the "ideology" of Islam, not death to Islamic practitioners! Although a million basijis under the sea would be a good start.

So stop putting words in my mouth! I'm saying death to the foreign belief system of Islam, a bedouin cult mind you, which has nearly erased our world-famous identity as heirs of Cyrus the Great, not death to Iranian individuals.

i have to admit. i don't know if it's the Fast of Ramezan but this site sometimes can get really depressing if not utterly disappointing. i've NEVER encountered such hate towards muslims in real life. Sure, i remember my 1st and 2nd year at UCLA i had convesations with Israelis on iran and on Gaza but it was done in a manner of mutual respect and genuinely trying to understand one anothers perspective. And you know what ?? afterwards i came away understanding and appreciating their concerns and they came away appreciating my point of view as well. Infact, later, two of them turned out to be roommates of mine in my 3rd year and today we still remain good friends.

But here in this imaginary pipeworld called the internet. anyone from a Ph.D scholar to the most vilest loneliest hate mongering socially dysfunctional animals can post their "SELF-DEFEATING ANIMOSITY" towards iranian muslims for something that had occured OVER A THOUSAND YEARS AGO !!!!!!!!!!!------- my mouth just soooo drops in disbelief !!!!!!

I mean has it EVER occured to these people that per chance I am Muslim because i believe in the tenents of this religion ?? has it occured to them maybe i did take a look a the Zorastianism , and it just didn't make sense to me. i'm sorry but Zorastianism doesn't make sense. what do you want me to do ???? u want me to still blindely accept Zoroastiansm simply because of my ancestors ???  i mean if i had said this in REAL LIFE --eye to eye. any person would have said "no of course not. you have the right and freedom to believe in any religion you feel is right for you. it doesn't make sense to follow a religion just soley because of what your ancestors use to do"  ---- but in this world of fantasy called the internet -- LOGIC DOES NOT STAND.  people will say "yes, if your iranian you will discard islam and believe in Zoroastianism. the religion of your ancestors and not this arab religion. And if you don't discard Islam you are a traitor and should die."

it just boggles the mind!!!! do these people really exist ??? and if so why won't they engage iranian muslims in REAL LIFE with these ridiculous notions ??? last time i checked there are Muslim Student Associations allll over U.S. colleges and universities as well as in Canada and in Great Britain. and trust me iranian muslims aren't that hard to find.

These people are like the KKK or the Neo-Nazi they NEVER EVER engage in conversations in REAL LIFE putting their ideas in the limelight of a robust scholarly debate at the universities but rather they choose to sit at home behind their keyboards thinking they are pure Geniuses in their narrow minded beliefs.
