by Sargord Pirouz on Fri Oct 29, 2010 01:08 PM PDTThe part extracted from the archive film depicting IIAF F-14A Tomcats was great! They don't perform flybys like that anymore. Where was this shot? TFB.1/Mehrabad? I don't see a lot of surrounding development, but Tehran wasn't so vast as it is today.
What else is interesting is how the Shah is the main focal point of the archive film. In the more recent films produced for the IRIAF, figures such as Khomeini and Khamanei are secondary to the theme, or images are provided in passing. The emphasis of more current videos pertaining to the IRIAF are on the different aircraft types and crews. But I have to say, the number of F-14s and the level of flying exhibited isn't quite up to this archive film.
