Michael Ledeen, the neo-conservative enforcer of war on Iran, has continously made outlandish remarks in supporting war against. And yet despite the fact that he has never been to Iran, nor has an academic background in the area, nor does he speak farsi, he is classified as an "expert" by conservative media outlets like Fox News, and even some Iranians in the United States, including Amir Abbas Fakhravar, particularly those who support regime change.
And yet there is mostly silence amongst us Iranians about a man who is clearly an enemy to our community. Think about this: in his advocacy for regime change in Iran, Ledeen is notoriously known for manipulating details about Iran's nuclear program and government in order to make Iran appear as a more visible threat. On October 14, 2003, Ledeen wrote in his column in the National Review that Iran would detonate a nuclear bomb in November 4 or 5, 2003 in celebration of the hostage crisis. Similarly, on January 4, 2007, Ledeen fabricated on a public blog that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had died. Moreover, on Fox News Ledeen lied about not supporting military action against Iraq in preference to war with Iran. Ledeen also believed that Iran is the main backer of the insurgency in Iraq and even supported the al-Qaida network formerly led by al-Zarqawi despite its declaration of jihad against Shi'ite Muslims. And lets not forget how Ledeen recently stated on the Jerry Doyle show that around 60% of Iranians in Iran support a full blown US invasion into Iran.
Here we live in a country where a person has gained notoriety for outwardly lying in hopes of murdering thousands if not millions of our family members and yet we do nothing about it. We should be proud of ourselves for these pathetic efforts.

Ledeen and friends are real threats to Iran
by Anonymous on Wed Sep 12, 2007 02:29 PM PDTTo all the Iranians who despise the IRI gov't (I do, pretty much) I would like to say that the real threat that is posed by Ledeen and the other neocons preparing to attack Iran is something that we cannot ignore. The plans have been made and sadly, we have no room to move - either we will be for or against a massive military operation against Iran which will lead to destruction of most of the infrastructure and the deaths of many innocents. Let's not forget that since the US will not wish to attack Iran with a ground force, they will do nothing to change the Iranian gov't -- in fact, they likely would prefer an Islamic regime that is internally strong but militarily weak in terms of its foreign policy. So don't harbor any illusions -- the neocons will not be the saviors of those who seek democracy in Iran -- the war that is being planned will only destroy what little there is to be proud of -- our infrastructure, our economy and, worst of all, innocent Iranians. And who will benefit? Ahmadinejad and the other maniacs who will use this to strengthen themselves inside Iran and lengthen the IRI's life by 20 more years.
The only question that remains: What will you do when they begin to bomb?

Strong accusation
by nmilaninia on Wed Sep 12, 2007 01:31 PM PDTThats a very strong accusation and I think there's a reason why you post it as an "anonymous." I have no affiliation with the IRI, I am the executive director of ISJ, a publication which has published articles by academics inside and outside of iran on the issue of human rights and international law and I welcome anyone to discredit our esteemed board of editors which can be found here: //isj.ir/english/ourteam.htm. Moreover I did spend two years in Egypt studying international human rights law and working at an institution which protected prisoners from torture. After which I worked in Cambodia investigating cases and seeking extradition of foreign sexual pedophiles. How any of this relates to the IRI makes no sense. But once again, there's a reason why you have to hide your identity while publicly making statements which you know to be factually untrue.
You're a danger to us, Iranians
by Anonymous on Wed Sep 12, 2007 01:28 PM PDTYou're a lying agent of the mullahs and YOU are the person who must be deported from the US for lying outright. Ledeen is our hero and he is our friend. Go to hell mullazadeh!
oh boy waht a tangled web we

Anonymous: do you have any proof?
Forget Ladeen and others
by Anonymous on Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:51 PM PDTForget Ladeen and others including the wistful monarchists who are gullible enough to think that they can replace the current regime with one of their own. Your point is to malign any attempt to change the Islamic regime. You and other Islamic regime mouthpieces like CASMII and NIAC are hired hands to shoot down any idea of regime change, period. You have to establish your bona fide by explaining the time you spent in Egypt with the Islamic fundamentalists of Cairo, then in Tehran becoming the “Executive Director” of International Studies Journal, an affiliate of the Intelligence Ministry

That made no sense
by nmilaninia on Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:04 PM PDTAnonymous, so how does your comment actually address my point?
Bullshit comment
by Anonymous on Wed Sep 12, 2007 11:43 AM PDTHey, Anonymous (read pussy). Stop this bullshit proliferation. Address the writer's points or get a life.
Spending a year "teaching
by Anonymous on Wed Sep 12, 2007 11:37 AM PDTSpending a year "teaching English" to Ayman al-Zawahiri's boys in Egypt does not qualify you as an expert on Iran. Your postings are as off mark as those of that nutcase Ladeen. BTW, are you still being handeled by ISJ's Mehdi Zakerian in Tehran or been handed over to Houshang Hassan-yari in Canadian operation Center?
