Baba Jan, let it go!  You have interrupted and disrupted a dialogue to keep repeating something which isn't accurate, and it doesn't reflect well on you my friend.  Let me share what I have learned from just reading these people's comments on different threads.  I hope this makes it easy for you.

American Wife is really an American woman, married to an Iranian American who is also an active member of the site, not sure which one.

Skatermom, a.k.a. Desi, is an Iranian American woman (I know she has talked about the fact that one of her parents is a Mashadi, but can't remember where in Iran her other half is from).

IRANdokht is an Iranian American woman.

Kaveh is an Iranian American man.

No amount of Moch-giri is going to turn American Wife into an Iranian, I'm afraid.  Just give it up and let us all move on.

Could it be that you are picking on these users because you don't like their liberal political views?  Ummmm...don't answer that Bystander.  Really, just as these users' ethnic and national origins don't and shouldn't matter, your and their political views shouldn't matter, either.

Crazy, weird and strange dude was RIGHT.  I misspelt grammar!  And I was an English major.  This is not acceptable.  I am humiliated beyond words.  I won't make any pathetic excuses like I was busting my butt to get the post out before my boss got back.  I will not allow myself even the smallest margin of error.  I have failed my fellow countrymen and the learned on Iranian.com.  I stand before you in abject misery begging your forgiveness.

Damn... for a minute I thought you "got" it.  It is pointless to argue with a woman!  And when you get a couple like our dear IRANdokht and Nazanin, you're fighting a losing battle!  Now that Desi is a registered user, you might as well give up!  :-)

Ok... I'm joking!  I hope you know that.  I'm just trying to interject a little light heartedness.  The campaign itself has been nasty enough.  We don't need to emulate the nasty people (on both sides!!!) who taunt and spew their venom and hatred.

My opinion?  This election (I almost said "race"...LOL) is not ABOUT race.  Race has become a factor.  IF Obama loses, it will not be BECAUSE he is black.  It will be, as ID said, because the election is rigged, just as it was in Florida in 2004.  If he wins (praise the Lord!), it will be because he has been deemed the most qualified to lead our country into recovery, not BECAUSE he is black.

Of course race and racism are part of this process!  This is America for God's sake. Born and raised in the South, I can assure you it's part of the fabric of every person in the world.  It exists everywhere and in everyone.  It's to the degree you let it determine your beliefs that matters.  There are those who are going to vote for Obama because he's black.  There are those who are NOT going to vote for him because he's black.  And there are those who would have never EVER thought they would vote for a woman or a black man that are going to vote for Obama.  There are conservative blacks (yes my friends, this is true) that are going to vote for McCain. 

Discuss the economy or the health plan of each candidate.  Why we're spending so much time and energy discussing an obvious fact is beyond me. 

You're right about respecting one another.  I respect that as an intelligent person that you are going to make your decision based on your beliefs and expectations (did I say this to you somewhere else?  It sounded so good I thought I'd use it again...:-)

Ok... enough pontificating for the day.  I need to get SOMETHING done today.  But as Awnald says.... I'll be baak.

The correct term is "having your cake and eating it too" or "have your cake and eat it too".  It's a matter of grammer my dear, an area in which you have already proven to be quite deficient.  It is used less as "having two incompatible things" and more to describe someone who wants it all.

Now that we've cleared that up, I seriously doubt there is anyway you could enlighten me in understanding anything regarding Catholicism.  Perhaps I misunderstood you.  Your thought process is so erratic and nonsensical that I mistook your meaning.

The issue of race in this election certainly is not my idea.

The question of race playing a factor in General Powell's endorsement was originally raised on Meet The Press on NBC, when his endorsement was first announced. Naturally, the general handled the issue with the class he is known for having. If you wish to project your displeasure with the race issue potentially downplaying what you consider to be a wise choice, project it at NBC, or Tom Brokaw specifically.

What I'm finding very puzzling and sickening is the fact that if McCain supporters consider race as a voting booth factor its considered racism, but if Obama supporters do so it's barely mentioned. In any instance, it's wrong. But it still merits discussion because it's an element that's clearly out there.

Can you come up with a valid explanation as to why it's acceptable only for the Democrats to use race this way? The Democrats are pandering to a group of people who are equally as disconnected and uninformed as the McCain supporters shown in the Al Jazeera video, and they are doing it shamelessly and blatantly. Can you explain why that is being downplayed into virtual non-existence?

Maybe McCain campaign knows that the number of people that would vote only based on islamophobia is worth not mentioning the muslim supporters?   They have even divided the country into the "real America" and non-americans, so telling those folks that they actually are getting muslim votes (and iranians by the way) could cost them.

I just replied to you: I'd say it was rigged. Why?  Nazanin explained it well. As you said it yourself it'd be unlikely, obviously based on the number of high ranking military commanders and republicans supporting Obama, and the large gap in the lead shown by the polls. So you tell me why would Obama not win?

Another point about race fixation

I think the fixation on race and racism by the people in this video and elsewhere is meant to distract people from the boloney McCain has been up to all these years. He was a media darling and a Vietnam POW turned Maverick (aka traitor in the Republican party). Sorry, but when it takes an e-mail from Bob Dole to kick start and legitimize McCain's campaign, he's got massive problems.

If McCain and Palin win, despite the consistent polling gap between the parties, it would definitely be fishy. Race is the most prominent issue that comes to mind, but people have been attacking Obama for other reasons too, like his name. But no matter what, Obama has lead an inspirational, historic campaign even without yet winning the election. That's enough to cheer about for me. But hopefully, McCain/Palin will be left to us as footnotes.

The subject of the blog is the segment who is OPENLY racist. It's not for me to decide whether racist voting will cause Obama to lose. But I think based on such people, it's possible for others to share those views but not show it.

Also, why are you cornering me and Irandokht to "admit" something to you? I've noticed this trend on iranian.com. When people don't agree on a topic, it's acceptable to target an opponent personally. I already wrote you that you're entitled to your opinion. I just don't agree with it. Peace.
