Clinton says U.S. could "totally obliterate" Iran

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton warned Tehran on Tuesday that if she were president, the United States could "totally obliterate" Iran in retaliation for a nuclear strike against Israel.

On the day of a crucial vote in her nomination battle against fellow Democrat Barack Obama, the New York senator said she wanted to make clear to Tehran what she was prepared to do as president in hopes that this warning would deter any Iranian nuclear attack against the Jewish state.

"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran (if it attacks Israel)," Clinton said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she said.

"That's a terrible thing to say but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic," Clinton said.

Her comments appeared harder than a week ago, when during a presidential debate she promised "massive retaliation" against any Iranian attack on Israel.

However, by implying that you may use your executive powers should you become the President of the United States to possibly cause the total destruction of a nation and commit genocide is an affront to humanity to say the least. A U.S. Senator aspiring to become President of the United States of America and hence the de facto leader of the world is expected to have a much deeper understanding of world politics than you have demonstrated during your campaign. Moreover, it is expected from a presidential candidate to have good and rational judgment, and to take bold and positive initiatives towards world peace and security. So far, what you are promising seems to give us a continuation of the failed policies of the Bush administration. Furthermore, your irresponsible words mimic the irrational aggressive and reprehensible remarks of the Islamic Republic’s President Ahmadinejad. This type of rhetoric is harmful to America's interests and to its standing as a global leader. Senator, your campaign rhetoric matters. Iran and Nuclear weaposns

the clear assumption is that the only way Iran would attack Israel, it would be by nuclear missiles.

First, Israel never threatened Iran, nor Iran threatened Israel during the times of Shah rule. For over 25 years during Shah's rule, Israeli agricultural experts had helped Iranian farmers. All those drip irrigation systems in Iran, they were installed by Israeli experts. So why these backward and barbaric Mullahs wish to destroy a country 1200km away from their borders.?

These Mullahs, don't have the right of the those hated & loathed Sunni-Arab Palestinians in mind, The same Arabs whom they consider as primitive a backward. Rather, like others before them, they wish to take a ride on the Palestinian's back to advance their own fundamentalist agenda of "Shi'ite crescent from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon", then dump them like used toilet paper.

These Mullahs trick is pretty transparent. They have that delusional messianic dream of restoring the past glories of Islamic rule under their brand of Shi'ite, and Jews are standing in their way.

The only way one can deter such fanatics from bringing the region into a nuclear holocaust, is through clear and graphic means of the consequences of their action.

One should not blame Hilary from telling these stupid mullahs where the dogs are berried.
