Yes, the Christian education
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Sun Jun 29, 2008 10:36 AM PDTprovided for me growing up, relied greatly on the Old Testament. In the New Testament I was only taught about the Gospels.
My favorite story growing up was Esther but I might have thought differently, if I had known about the execution of Vashti.

PS: You must remember that my Christian education was provided to me all in Spanish and within the Mexican culture.

Persian tolerance, that cylinder, bla bla bla. Suggest you google further, there may be conflicting versions of the story., I am surprised you learned about Achashverosh (Ataxerxes in Hebrew),and Vashti at all, I only learned it for Purim in Hebrew School. DId your teachings rely heavily on the Old Testament?
R,
Oooooooooooooh what an interesting idea
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Sun Jun 29, 2008 10:17 AM PDTI wonder what they would think?:o)
I just read that queen Vashti was executed four years after she was removed as Queen and then the King married Esther, is this true?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esther
I was raised to believe that Vashti was simply exiled. I was never told that she was executed.

Did we not discuss already, my not wanting to be his imaginary friend? Yes, I do recall the conversation with clarity. :o)
Candelabra? I don't think so. I think it shall have to be Nadia then. Now, Sasha would have been better but in some countries it is a guys name. hahahahaha
Hey! How about a French name then?

Isn't it funny to be gossipping in public under a news item about barcodes in between all this nuclear stuff? Only in the 21st century,
Good night and may the force be with you,
R,
PS How about Chantily for your name? Or Candelabra?
If only I could but alas.......

Bunny cake,
by Rosie T. on Sat Jun 28, 2008 11:16 PM PDTWell if you are not Mehdi Mazloom you should be Mehdi Mazloom and so I am going to appoint you Mehdi Mazloom and I think I CAN do this because I am the Dear Abby of the website. So that is my advice, BE Mehdi Mazloom. Now.
Aren't my newsfeeds kitschy? Everyone ELSE is talking about nukes and war and I find these little tidbits about barcodes and Andalusian love poems and Indian oil wells. I am trying to HUMANIZE the newsfeeds. teehee
Newfeeds are so much fun. Surf and post surf and post and surf and post again...
Bunny stop fighting with Maz, It isn't worth it. You're always going to make up anyway.
Do you think you could ask whatshisname to stop fighting with ME? I put out a white flag he puts out a red flag and on and on and on it goes white flag red flag white flag red flag. I feel like Betsy Ross. Do you think you might intercede on my behalf? I really don't want to leave..and anyway, he will miss me. LOL

I always have to put my foot down and speak my mind. Freedom! What do we want Freedom! Power to the the People!
By the way do you know if Salman Rushdie has a Ph.D? I have never heard people refer to him as Dr. Salman Rushdie. I will be getting into a possible debate with Zion over this on Sadegh's latest blog Video: Orientalism and Racism.
Also, did you read Bijan AM's comment on a rape scenario on that Islamic attack on democracy. Very disturbing comment indeed.

You know I'm establishing quite a name for myself among the new wave of contributors, especially the fish. It's just like the old days, I feel very popular, needed and respected. I help them out with their ISSUES about Pejmand and Ahmadinejad. They listen. They take it to heart.
I don't really want to leave. Could you please ask jj if he will let me stay.
Omigod DON'T keep doing this to me. I already have enough mind games going on with you know who, and also the clock is ticking, zero hour is coming when I must leave and I must use each moment wisely.
