I think that artists and regulars Joes should be freem
by K Nassery on Tue Jul 01, 2008 05:56 PM PDTbut it would be nice if people exercised common sense and had some respect for the views of others. I'm trying to be respectful of other opinions here and in my real life.
no problem glad it's clarified
by niki not logged in (not verified) on Tue Jul 01, 2008 12:31 PM PDTmy bad too. The title could be open to interpretation, especially since I am prone to sarcasm in my other posts :)
But yeah, I totally believe that an artist, whether or not I disagree or like his/her work, should not be punished criminally for his/her performance, film, art piece or whatever. Way too big brother-ish for me. I liked Michael Moore's films and I am sure many in America consider him anti-American and would love to bring charges against him of treason and inciting hatred. The fact that these things are not happening is a positive sign for human rights.
I was not surprised by the Dutch case because I could not imagine such a liberal, modern country prosecuting a film director for his work on such trumped-up charges.
Sorry, Nicki
by K Nassery on Tue Jul 01, 2008 09:15 AM PDTMy first impression was that you wanted them to be punished. I've been going to too many mosque parties and listening to the conversations. This place has a lot of people who want it their way or the highway too.
Well yeah

Of course not, Niki...
by K Nassery on Tue Jul 01, 2008 04:00 AM PDTNo punishment for the anti American posts here on Iranian.com either. That's freedom of thought. It's a basic Human right.
