A decree signed by the Lebanese president and prime minister announces the formation of a new cabinet after months of political strife.

The announcement came Friday after a meeting, in the presidential palace, between President Michel Suleiman, Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.

"We announce the formation of the new cabinet," Government Secretary General Suheil Bougi said on Friday, adding the cabinet will be headed by Premier Fouad Seniora and will comprise a 30-member cabinet.

Speaking at the presidential palace, Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora described the government of national unity as 'the government of all the Lebanese'.

He further highlighted restoring confidence in political institutions and the Lebanese political system and promoting moderation, as two key tasks of the new government.

"Our differences will not be resolved overnight, but we have decided to resolve them through institutions and dialogue rather than in the streets," he added.

The announcement marks a victory for Hezbollah which now enjoys noticeable powers in the 30-minister cabinet.

In May, Lebanon's political leaders assembled in the Qatari capital, Doha, signing a deal and ending street clashes which claimed over 65 lives in Beirut.

Apparently now Hezbollah will have veto power in Lebanese government. This may be significant because zio-nazis were trying to get recognition from Lebanon. I guess that recognition is now out of the window (or in the tiolet).
