U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman is no dove when it comes to confronting Iran and protecting Israel.

The independent from Connecticut has called for American air strikes against Iran to halt that country's support of anti-American forces in Iraq.

He also has warned that the United States and Israel must never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

One of Israel's most passionate supporters in the United States, Lieberman will discuss the Iranian threat during a speech at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Palm Beach Synagogue, 120 N. County Road.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said Israel should be wiped off the map.

"If there is one thing we Jews have learned, it is to never underestimate the power of evil," Scheiner said.

Lieberman is perhaps best known as the Democratic vice presidential candidate in 2000.

U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney will address the synagogue at an Aug. 23 luncheon on the war on terrorism and U.S.-Israeli relations, Scheiner said... >>>

God I hate this man and I'm FAR from anti-semitic. He's just a douche bag of the highest order. He made me want to be a republican when he was running on the VP ticket and for that I loathe him.
