Funny and sad
by ProudToBeAnonymous (not verified) on Wed Sep 03, 2008 09:29 AM PDTAt first I laughed a lot because I found this very funny. Then I became so sad that I almost cried. I felt like crying for the country, for its people, for us.

by News Goffer on Tue Sep 02, 2008 08:20 PM PDTThink about this for a minute...
This guy has made one of the most outlandish claims anyone has ever made, even in IRI. I mean even if he had claimed to just be a graduate of Emam Jafar-e-Sadegh University (where many of his cohorts claim to have gotten their Ph.D.'s), they could have swept this mess under the rug as they have many similar cases. But he has to claim that he has an honorary doctrate degree from Oxford, no less!
I have observed bold and brazen behavior, outright lies, and inaccurate claims in the ruling politicians in IRI (I guess they forget "lying" is a major sin in Islam).
But this is such a flaky and stupid lie, it makes me wonder about the sanity and wisdom of Mr. Kordan and Mr. Ahmadinejad. I suppose a President who claims to have been covered in a halo with his audience completely paralyzed during his presentation at UN, should have a cabinet member who claims he has an imaginary Ph.D. from Oxford.
A performance hallmark of IRI officials has been their lack of accountability for the past 30 years. No one ever resigns and no one ever takes responsibility and no one ever admits errors. At the end of a job badly done, people are always promoted to their next government appointment.
This one has been fascinating to watch.
