Iranian officials say Esha Momeni is under investigation. No formal charges have been lodged.

"The relevant institutions and organizations are following the case," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi told reporters in Tehran on Monday. "She is under investigation and until the investigation is finalized, we cannot make any comment."

American Wife

from funny to frightning...

by American Wife on

It's all here on iranian.com.  You can go from a love poem to this.  Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry.  But add my thoughts and prayers to the many already out there.  Hope to hear an update on her release soon... please keep us posted!

Guantanamo is a great model. The reason it's better than Iran's is that it's far far away from the main land. Iran needs to find a way to hide its detainees if it really wants to top America. Evin is child's play.

I feel so bad for this poor girl and her family. I just hope they don't blame her and yell at her with a million "i told you so's" the way iranian families tend to do and tell her she should have just gone to medical school and kept her head out of this politics and human rights mess.

Iran has a good role model: USA's Guantanamo detainees are not in a better situation. They are actually there indefinitely.

These people are out of their minds!

People who are doing campaign against the current regime must be out of their minds if they go to Iran. They should remember Kazemi lady from Canada who went to Iran and took pictures and interviewed Evin prisoner's family and ended up in grave with a broken skull.

This is so sad, but it was meant to send a message to Iranian-Americans, especially the young ones. It's amazing that she had the courage unlike most "Iran lovers" to visit Iran. Get back soon and safe!
