Those who live by the sword...
by Asghar_Massombagi on Tue Nov 18, 2008 09:29 AM PSTI remember clearly when Derakhshan, on this very site, defended the arrest of Ramin Jahanbegloo and his subsequest teatment by the regime in Tehran. Ditto his reaction to Esfandiary's arrest and her subsequest TV "confession". Is Hossein going to have a show of his own too? Well, if this report is true, the shoe is now on the other foot. It'll be very interesting to hear from Hossein after he'd been released. Would he justify his own arrest in the name of national security and defense of the revolution? This reminds me of Stalinist show trials where the accused, after months of psychological torture, would stand up in the court and declare themselves the scum of histoy. Mind you with the charge of espionage for Isreal - what on earth could he have spied for? - it could take a while before he's heard from. I wish him well, in spite of disagreeing with most of what he's had to say in the past.

by Babak Pirouzian (not verified) on Mon Nov 17, 2008 11:35 PM PSTtraveling to Israel/Iran as claims by himself, defending Ahmadi Nejad and the regime, bad mouthing oppositions, jubilant in his writing, when Jafar Kiani stoned to death in Turkestan after being in prison for 11 years, character assassination of credible people, while Kayhan of Tehran supporting him by printing a few of his blogs make me have very doubtful on the entire story. To get to know him more, read some of his blogs last couple of years.

by darius on Mon Nov 17, 2008 11:33 PM PSTI just checked out his English blog and his last entry dates back to October 6th,2008. Is it common for him not to do any blog entry for over a month?
If one entry is not some thing unusal for over a month, you should consider him safe otherwise,I probably consider the news somewhat
credible.
Hossein Derakhshan
by News Goffer on Mon Nov 17, 2008 09:20 PM PSTJahan News is not a credible source, though ironically, Mr. Derakhshan has quoted this same source as a credible source himself before. He hasn't updated his blogs for the past two weeks. I heard through a human rights activist in Chicago that he has been arrested in Tehran, but I haven't seen any other links to the story yet.
Meir Javedanfar in Israel has written about this, also quoting the Jahan News piece: //middleeastanalyst.com/2008/11/18/hossein-derakhshan-has-been-arrested-in-tehran/
Here's Balatarin's reference to the news: //balatarin.com/permlink/2008/11/15/1449968
