The human rights group Amnesty International is accusing Israel of misusing weapons supplied by the United States during its recent 22-day assault on militants in the Gaza-Strip. Israel has rejected the report, calling it biased and unprofessional.
The report released Monday says both Israel and Hamas used weapons supplied from abroad to kill civilians.

Official israeli spin
by khaleh mosheh on Mon Feb 23, 2009 01:54 PM PSTis that the report is methodologically flawed.
This morning, Mark Regev- israel's spokesman gave an interview to BBC repeating the meassage with unbelievable shamelessness. Another interview that he gave has been posted here before but it is worth putting on again as he basically just repeated the same lines when questioned about this report. I guess he is taught to stay on the message.

by capt_ayhab on Mon Feb 23, 2009 01:33 PM PSTAbsolutely sir,
now again according to LEGENDS[BullSh!t] these bombs are produced for two reasons:
1. To provide smoke screen
2. To provide light so the Gunships could MOW DOWN the escaping children and civilians.

The core of the selling of such weapons
by Abarmard on Mon Feb 23, 2009 01:13 PM PSTOr even producing it should be questioned. I don't think US sold these to Israel to use against any countries. Only two reasonable targets: Palestinian kids or Lebanese.
Sad situation and funny way to wash ones hand from the crimes committed
double standard
by capt_ayhab on Mon Feb 23, 2009 12:47 PM PSTWhat pisses me the most is how these amnesty guys sugar coat the news so it does not ruffle any feathers[Us and Israel].
Just compare the news they give out when it comes to other countries regarding their alleged human rights violations.

According to the LEGENDS, US supplies those arms to Israel for the purpose of self defense against CHILDREN.

by IRANdokht on Mon Feb 23, 2009 09:44 AM PSTThere are restrictions in the way the White Phosphorus bombs can be used. They're not supposed to be rained down on civilians for the extremely painful burns they produce.
White Phosphorus is supposed to be used for the thick white smoke it produces and not in densely populated areas.
All that said, I think it's hypocritical to sell weapons to someone and accuse them of using it to kill people! Both the seller and the killer are at fault.

Misused?
by Abarmard on Mon Feb 23, 2009 09:36 AM PSTAnd how did the US wanted the weapons to be used "correctly" or "properly"?
