According to his administration's secret legal memos released Monday,...in “war on terror” cases, an “enemy combatant” may have no formal connection to an enemy group,....no weapon, and...no..discernible plan for carrying out a terrorist attack....What was particularly stunning about [its] reference to waiving the First Amendment...was [its] cavalier attitude...

by rosie is roxy is roshan on Wed Mar 04, 2009 08:35 PM PSTI thought it was my computer. The slowness too. If it is still happening tomorrow we should write Foaad about it.
and is anyone still questioning whether or not
by anonymous fish on Wed Mar 04, 2009 02:51 PM PSTthat bunch of criminals should be prosecuted? i know it's pointless. i know it's not going to happen. but damn it... i want to at least hear that SOMEONE is still trying to do something.
as far as IC... it's been working ok lately but sometimes i get logged off when i try to go to "track" or gets hung up when i'm going between different blogs. but today has just been excruciatingly slow. and i'm not a patient person...lol.
well cap'n, i'd like to recommend the source to you if you
by rosie is roxy is roshan on Wed Mar 04, 2009 02:56 PM PSTwere looking for them Consortiumnew.oom is a completely independent publication run by and largely but not exclusively written by Robert Parry, financed on contributions. Parry had an illustrious mainstream journalism career and was one of the people who broke Iran-Contra but he decided to go independent. He is basically a liberal and a muckracker. It's kind of refreshing in a way that he's not futher left because although his focus is on the right, he will happily rake anyone's muck.
Any time there is something related to corruption, scandal, hypocristy deceit, infringmement on human rights, etc. in the US government, domestically or internationally, it'll be in cn pretty soon with a good analysis.
yeah, everything's slow today. i noticed that. it's true, we all
by rosie is roxy is roshan on Wed Mar 04, 2009 02:43 PM PSTkinda knew it but these memos do provide some pretty lurid concrete details..

by anonymous fish on Wed Mar 04, 2009 12:44 PM PSTthat is scary stuff. but we all pretty much knew it. we can only hope it's in the past. but it still gives me the shivers thinking about how close that maniac was to the red button.
