Why does the lobby care so much about one appointment to an important, but not top leadership position? Here’s one reason: Freeman would have been responsible for the production of National Intelligence Estimates. Israel and its American supporters were outraged when the National Intelligence Council concluded in November 2007 that Iran was not building nuclear weapons, and they have worked assiduously to undermine that report ever since. The lobby wants to make sure that the next estimate of Iran’s nuclear capabilities reaches the opposite conclusion, and that would have been much less likely to happen with Freeman in charge. Better to have someone vetted by Aipac running the show.
But, the article ends with this potimistic note:
But Freeman will continue to speak out about Israel and the lobby, and maybe some of his natural allies inside the Beltway will eventually join him. Slowly but steadily, space is being opened up in the United States to talk honestly about Israel.
>>>I discussed the role if Israel Lobby in killing the nomination of Chas Freeman to the National Intelligence Council in my earlier blog:

Freeman had endorsed Mearsheimer and Walt's book which created the red flags in the AIPAC. In this article, Mearsheimer explains why exactly AIPAC smeared and tried to prevent Freeman from the intelligence job.

Why do you think Dennis Ross was shoehorned in the State by the Israel supporters, to fan Hillary during the hot muggy DC days?!!!
I am not sure what qualifies you to pass judgment about other people's mental conditions, but as far as I'm concenred your tunnel vision about Iran does not signal that you are at the top of your mental capcity either.

by Farhad Kashani on Thu Mar 26, 2009 10:18 AM PDTJaleho,
I had a question. don’t you think being on Iranian.com (not Palestinian or Isaeli.com) and among Iranians (not Israelis or Palestinians) on a site that is about Iran (not Israel and Palestine), and constantly, nonstop talk about Israel and changing the subject from the Islamic regime in Iran to Israel, don’t you think that’s a sign of A – Mental illness 2- Extreme propaganda technique by the Islamo Socialists to divert attention from the atrocities in Iran to something else?
Thanks.

by khaleh mosheh on Wed Mar 25, 2009 03:46 PM PDTIts funny that there is an onslaught of 'not verfied' posters. Sounds like that the only way they can advance their agenda now is through resorting to smoke and mirrors tactics mixed with a dollop of bullying..
So whats new anyway..
