Republican senators used a hearing Thursday with Attorney General Eric Holder to discourage an investigation into torture under the Bush administration.
Both Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Richard Shelby of Alabama
suggested that they would push hard to expand any probe of the CIA's
"rendition" program and other legally and morally questionable tactics
to include the Clinton administration, as well as members of Congress
who were briefed on interrogation methods.

by anonymous fish on Fri May 08, 2009 02:18 PM PDTon the other blog as well. without stating a like or dislike for her, i don't think anything has been proven one way or the other. i'd much rather someone who didn't like her address something a little more specific, more tangible, than that issue. i just haven't formed a conclusive opinion yet and am keeping my options open...:-)
on this however, i too would like to see a very aggressive action towards accountability. it being the tip of the iceberg though might very well be it's undoing. is it going to go on and on forever? but of course it will. i don't know. it's just not that easy. all i want is to see those bastards behind bars. and it just ain't gonna happen.
and you know... as far as our honor is concerned, do you really think convictions would make a difference to anyone? those who hate the US are just going to find another reason.
rather, i think that our best efforts should go to rebuilding trust via example. i HATE the idea of letting those bastards get away scott free. but. BUT. "judge not lest thee be judged". they'll get theirs one day.

by capt_ayhab on Fri May 08, 2009 01:37 PM PDTThat is exactly what I think as well. Earlier I submitted another news thread regarding Pelosi and her knowledge of the torture.
I do believe what we are hearing is simply the tip of the iceberg. My feeling are that Mr. Obama should proceed with investigation and possible indictments of ALL involved. This is our honor and reputation in the whole world that we are talking about. How can we preach other countries if we do not follow our own example?

P/S I do not like Pelosi and I have no trust in her. I think she is corrupt to the bone.
very good blog
by anonymous fish on Fri May 08, 2009 12:54 PM PDTbut i don't think... and this is just me of course... this is a republican thing versus democrat thing. i believe the dems would be doing the same thing. i am absolutely of the mindset that this is a bush and cheney thing. it's merely a side issue that they are republicans. they are specifically the worst criminals who have ever held public office. they as individuals have done more to harm america and americans than anything else.
