Lebanon's elections: an early inquest
The Daily Star Lebanon / Michael Young

Hizbullah cannot be displeased with the
results. It was always a win-win situation for the party anyway. The
majority lead held by March 14 is roughly what it was four years ago,
and with Hariri as prime minister, Hizbullah feels it will be able to
put a credible Sunni face on the defense of its armed "resistance." The
party also senses, rightly or wrongly, that it has greater leverage
over Hariri with him in the government than outside it.
