Washington, 10 June (WashingtonTV)—United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Tuesday that Iran must assure the international community of the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. “They complain that they are not able to have this peaceful use of nuclear energy, but there is clearly a lack of confidence,” Ban said in an interview with the Bloomberg news network. He added: “When it comes to credibility and trust, that is not what we have yet from Iran.”

Iran, which has defied UN Security Council demands to halt its uranium enrichment program, rejects Western accusations that its nuclear program has a military aim.

According to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA] released on Friday, Iran has so far amassed 1,339 kilograms of low-enriched uranium.

The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog also said that a number of “outstanding issues” remain which are preventing the agency from verifying the exclusive peaceful nature of Iran’s atomic work.

Iran’s envoy to the IAEA, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, said on Monday that Tehran would continue to “cooperate” with the agency, but that Iran’s nuclear dossier must be taken off the agenda of the IAEA’s Board of Governors, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

US President Barack Obama has said that Washington was willing to hold direct talks with Tehran to resolve the nuclear row. However, he has repeatedly asserted that I... >>>

Nojan, you’re right, ki

by Farhad Kashani on

Nojan, you’re right, ki moon is scared about extremists getting nukes, and who is more extremist than IRI! That’s what the world has been saying. If IRI has acted as a responsible, civilized, peace loving government, the world will support it. But for 30 years it has acted with zero responsibility, common sense, civility and desire for peace.

So, you’re right on the money, EXTREMIST IRI should not get nukes.

Also, with reference to Israel, that country went into war 3 times with Arabs, when did it use its nukes? Never! No matter how it treats Palestinians, it has acted in absolute responsibility when it came to nukes. IRI has shown 0 responsibilities in all areas, so who in their right mind will supports its right to nuclear bombs?

  ./.,

First thing, your beloved IRI regime has said repeatedly its not seeking nukes (And there are unicorns!), so now you defending the Fascist regime’s right to nukes will make you and the regime look 1- liars (which they are) 2- untrustworthy (which they are) 3- Dangerous (which they are). IRI and its supports like you’s problem is that you have stuck your head in the sand and think that no one understands the game you’re playing. Yes, IRI has fooled the world for a long time, but that has ended.

Second, the best deterrence for any responsible government is to act civilized and with responsibility and with desire for peace and with co operation and good behavior, all things that IRI can’t even spell. So based on that, since IRI has asking for “nafaskesh” as the “laats” they are for 30 years now, it has made nothing but enemies, including Saddam, Israel, U.S, Europe, neighbors, everyone! Even China and Russia are voting against it in U.N. So, you don’t need a nuclear bomb, all you have to do is to act responsibly. And since IRI has shown for 30 years it is simply unable to do that since they are bunch of ignorant thugs, and their supporters too, they will always have enemies.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon , sir

you need to have a good reason to accuse Iran of making nuke bombs.

we saw how America us UN to make it like Iraq had nuke or was to make nuke bombs.

and now Iran ,the only country you cant trust with n bomb are usa and Israel and Pakistan.

Mr. ban ki moon have nothing to say about Israel bombs and Pakistan’s security problems, and how extremist are close to already produced bombs.

its all just him playing nice for American.

In an Unstable Middle East ....

In an unstable ME, where the worst of the humanity (zio-nazis) are equipped with over 200 atomic bombs threatening the entire world, iranians need to have the deterrence of nuclear weapons. Nukes most likely will not be used (as they was not between USSR and USA during the cold war), but serves as an effective deterrent. History has shown that when Iran did not have an effective defense posture, the enemies (from Saddam in the 80s to the zio-nasis threats throughput the lat 30 years) have existed. Iran needs nuclear weapon at a higher priority than medicine and food for its people. Luckily, due to progress towards self reliance over the last 30+ years, the country is on its way to become a major economic power. Therefore, food and medicine will be there for its people as well.
