let forgot about the jebeh
by nojanthegreat on Sat Jun 13, 2009 07:33 PM PDTlet forgot about the jebeh melli guy, what I don’t understand is the reaction of people to the results of the election.
from the beginning people mention that moussavi is candidate of elite and urban population in cities like Tehran and other big cities.
and ahmadinejad is the champion of poor. well clearly they are more poor than rich in Iran .
I think most of you have forget where we are coming from. Iran is still a conservative country . you can also see it here in USA.
how many of Iranian are republican and how many are green party ?
what we see in TV is Tehran and maybe 2 or 3 big city . let see if this thing happen in small towns and other part of Iran then we can say some thing.
15 million Iranian voted for mossavi ( by IRNA ) , well they lost the election and they are in street for that .I can understand that .
but if they are frauds allegations in the election, is very easy. Iranian vote in old fashion and with paper( good ) . let recount that. let go to suspected places and recount the vote. I wont be surprised if the result didn’t changed.
and this street show will end by week or even maybe sooner. the right channel is the recount process .
all parties involved had members at the poll stations. well let start to see if they are some which think there was problem with their poll station. we can be civilized and stop the riot and start the recount process.
did you guys see the pictures of the riots. you tell me if this happen in us or any other part of world the reaction of government was different.
you trough rock at cops and see what is coming for you. this Iranian police is very patient.
and yes the winner of this election are Iranian who voted. we should have done this from beginning. and now we need to follow up in parliament election and also in shora election ( city consul ).
and any body know about khobregan election?
they choice the leader of Iran.

I have seen your posts and Rosie's posts and some other IRI fanatics here. But you are by far the most craziest one.
Let peopl express their opinions. If they hate IRI and Mousavi and Ahamdainejad or bot that is why we are here. If you like anyone of them go back to Iran and live amongst the Mullahs.
Mullahs love followers like you who blindly follow their fascist, racist and ignorant system
The regime and whoever represents or supports it is guilty of crime against humanity.
It is like the Germans who supported the Nazis and they keeps saying we had no option we had to. No you had an option and that was not participate in an Nazi activities, hold their passports or vote for Hitler.
Same is true in our case. Our regime is fascist, Nazi like regime. It kills, discriminates and executes, minorities, gays, Jews, Bahais, Christians, Sunnis, wome and political activist.
So make up your mind are you a Nazi or you love Iran?
The real losers are the
by Pessimistic (not verified) on Fri Jun 12, 2009 08:52 PM PDTThe real losers are the millions of Iranians in villages and small towns who have been manipulated by IRI and before by the Shah's regime. Those of us who are old enough, remember that Shah's "White Revolution” was also voted by a large majority like 90+ percent. Unfortunately most of our people are very naive and easy to brain wash. I talked to a relative of mine in Iran today and he said he voted for the charlatan pres A. Nejad. I asked him why, and he said because he can stand to the rest of the world and also he works for the average Iranians. It is indeed very sad to see how our fellow Iranians have been kept uninformed of their potential and circumstances. Our culture and the Shia religion have caused lasting damagaes to our people, and this regime knows very well how to use them for their interests. A meaningful democracy requires thinking and reflective citizens and frankly we are a long, long way from it. As the saying goes "people get the government that they deserve."

The reasons kinds of Mr. Kazemzadeh will not understand are:
1. [His]their call of massive boycott failed, yet he starts with [I told you so]. Well my man No you did not told no body nothing. Your call for boycott of the election failed. People of Iran decided to go to polls in HUGE numbers, and that is what it counts.
2. Iran hasn't seen this much energy in 30 years. Even if Ahmadinejad wins, still it is a huge victory for millions of young and urban dwellers who put their heart and souls in this election.
3. their kind is only talk, People like Roger Cohen do not call themselves scholars, but this dude has the arrogance which is result of his deep ignorance calls himself a scholar.
You know my position about IR clearly. I am avid opponent of the regime But this election was not about me, it was about all those young people in the streets.

Of course it's not final, Rosie
by Q on Fri Jun 12, 2009 03:31 PM PDTFirst of all, 20% is not a bad number to consider, if the counts were being done at the same rate everywhere. If that was the case, the same percentages would pretty much hold until this end.
From watching many US elections, this is usually what happens in national elections, accross most states the numbers hold. However accross states like Ohio and New Mexico, considered "battleground", they don't stay the same. Florida can also be added to this list. The reason is that there are big demographic differences within the individual counties and locales.
Iran, can also be considered a battleground state. A 60-40 breakdown can easily flip.
You have to think about which 20% of the vote is being counted. Most likely it's those in the rural areas where the election closed on time and the numbers were easy to tally and report.
In big cities, however, where the polling hours have been extended over 4 hours, the results are not yet tallied and reported. Those areas are heavily favored by Mousavi. We have about another day for any definitive numbers left.

It stinks so bad I can smell it from outside Iran.

by Souri on Fri Jun 12, 2009 02:40 PM PDTThis is not a definitive result, it is just a preliminary. But still
there is much difference between the number of votes for Ahmadinejad and that of Mousavi. Whoever will be elected, I will respect the decision of my people. In this form of government, we can only count on the pride of our people.
A definitive reform is out of the picture, at least for now. I will be happy if Iranian people would prefer the bad one rather than the worse one, but again, as I said, this is only their choice and I will respect it, no matter what.
If Ahmadinejad win, this will only prove how much the intellectual wanna be out of the country live in a far distance from the actual reality of their country.... means living in la la land.

TEHRAN, June 12 ((Reuters) - Former prime minister
Mirhossein Mousavi said he was the "definite winner" in Iran's
election on Friday, claiming victory over President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad.
"We see ourselves as the definite winner," Mousavi told a
news conference in Tehran.
Mousavi complained about irregularities in the voting,
saying: "We are waiting for the counting of votes to officially
end and explanations of these irregularities be given".
He said that many voters had not been able to cast their
ballots even after voting was extended by four hours.
"There are still many people behind closed doors who cannot
cast their votes. We had centres that, despite the fact the
election was extended, were told to close down," he said.
"We were faced with a delay (in receiving) ballot papers.
There was a lack of ballot papers in many places, such as (the
cities of) Tabriz, Shiraz, Isfahan etc," he said.
